I picked up my G05 just over a week ago. There are some issues with getting Spotify working well with it, but otherwise I am really enjoying driving it.

When I purchased the car the orbit grey wheels looked fantastic in the sun light however I am not liking the contrast of the chrome window trims with the wheels under most lighting conditions.

I am thinking of either purchasing/trading different wheels (like the 20" vspoke wheels) or figuring out if I can find m sport shadowline window, roof, and door trim.



Thoughts?

I have to agree black/gray wheels with the chrome trim is a little awkward looking, I would definitely trade/sell for a different set of rims

Edit: found a pair on ebay that looks like this, would probably fit better with the x-line trim, although they have more spokes

Have you considered these? Same wheel design and size, may be more your flavor.

I have not. I didn't know those were available. Is that something that my dealer can order for me? Or is it something I am going to need to wait for someone to sell of of their new vehicle?

Just guessing, but given their availability for order on a new build, I'm assuming your parts department would be able to order them. You could reuse your current Pirellis and possibly get some credit for your orbit grey wheels or resell them privately.

If you don't hate the wheel design or the size, this seems like a more practical option.

BMW missed the mark. What's ironic is that M-Sport comes with black trim but the only dark wheel option, 1XB your Orbit Grey, is only available on x-line and can't be ordered with M-Sport.. Go figure.

I could never stand black wheels. But on this car the combo is a new low. Pretty much every other wheel bmw has would be a better option.

I would prefer black wheels on the M-sport, with no chrome trim.

I have the 20 inch v spoke wheels and was thinking about having them dipped black. I really like a black wheel and I'm kicking myself for not ordering them when I bought my X5. These are the ones I have now. I would trade for black ones. Mine have 65 miles on them.

Don't want to make you feel bad but I ordered the exact same combo as you. When dealers started getting vehicles I went online and checked Autotrader for cars with those same wheels. I though it looked bad color wise so I called my dealer and had the wheels changed to the 21 inch bi color which you mentioned you hadn't seen (new for November). Your pictures confirm I made the right decision. Hope you can get them replaced at a reasonable price.
