Red interior - Does it hold up well over time?

So today I was at the LA auto show to check out the new BMW's and I noticed an X4 M40i with the individual Fiona Red/Black Extended Merino Leather. When I opened the door I noticed that the dye from people's jeans had bled onto the seats. I guess what I want to know, is red leather easy to clean and does it hold up well over time?

The red Merino seats on my M3 were fine after a year of use.

I don't imagine it would be much different from brown interiors.

My E90's brown leather looks brand spanking new 10 years and 70k miles later.

Occasional cleaning and conditioning goes a long way.

I had the red leather interior on my F33, and after 3 years of use, never had any issues.

Blue jeans dye transfer is easy to clean with just a damp rag. My '15 M3 has Sakhir red interior and has held up well.

Dakota leather holds up really well in my experience. A lot of people knock it but thick pebble grain leather like Dakota lasts a long time. Now those fancy smooth glove-like leathers that everyone thinks are an upgrade on M3, Lexus, etc. are a different story.

As said above, blue jeans dye comes off the seats easy. I used Westley tire cleaner on a damp cloth then followed with some Lexol

I had Sakhir Orange for 14,000 miles and zero marks. Red is fine, not nearly in the same category as silver stone and whites.

It's a cool choice and whenever it's a 'free' choice I'll be going red.

The Coral Red leather seats in my car are showing slight signs of dye transfer after 2 years. But it doesn't bother me. I need to find time for a good cleaning effort one of these weekends.

3 years with coral red in my old f22 m235i. Held up amazingly. You get some dye transfer but nothing that doesn’t easy come up with a leather cleaner.
