M sport package brakes vs m sport brakes

Hi,

I am wondering when you choose the m sport package, what brakes do you get and how are they different from the $650 option of m sport brakes?

Bigger rotors and more pistons? Also are calipers blue if you get m sport pkg without. M sport brakes?

This has been covered at least a dozen times now. The M Sport package includes the larger M Sport brakes (bigger calipers and discs vs stock).

No. They do not have the blue calipers. They are just the standard brakes.

I should have rephrased, the 50i gets M Sport Brakes standard (it's also heavier so they're appreciated) they're still optional on the 40i

If you are talking 40i, you have to pay more for the M Sport package than the 50i. That still won’t give you the M brakes with either 40i or 50i M-Sport package. You must also pay the $650 M Sport brake package or if you pay to have the Dynamic Handeling Package ($3650), the big M Brakes are included. The take away is NO the M brakes do not come with the M-Sport Package.

I must be crazy, or just tired. I always assumed it was standard to get them on the 50i but I'm betting it's because I always had the DHP optioned. thank you for clarifying this

Nope, I am in the process of this ordering system now with my dealer. I want every performance option with my 50i M-Sport and you would be shocked how many dealers ordered in a $95k 50i WITHOUT M brakes. The best way to go is with the Dynamic Handeling Package as it’s the ultimate way to out fit a performance 50i MSport. BMW ordering packages are confusing for even the dealers. The average consumer would be lost if they were picky about their options.

I don't think you've seen my build posted before. I have everything except NV, rear seat entertainment and the 22" wheels which I don't like. $98k sticker and hopefully worth it.

I know, I am at the same at about $100k with the B&W and night vision. What’s the difference between $92k or $100k at this level of vehicle?? Compromising is not a option and getting what you want is all that matters. You are easily $95k+ if you have the executive, DHP, Merino, Luxury Seating. Unfortunately most of the vehicles that are loaded have the 22”ers and I don’t want them. I really only want the 20”ers but will settle for the 21”ers and swap tires. I saw one loaded up 50i with the 22” wheels but NOT the M brakes. It looked horrible on a $94k X5. Price points have gone up a to another level than 4 years ago. Heck, a loaded Prestige Q8 with the one and only smaller engine is over $100k. A loaded up performance X5 50i at the same price point is actually a good deal.

Did you get the B&W too? What about NV and rear seat entertainment? I have no children so the last one isn't needed at all, NV can't be used more than half the year where I live so I have everything else. For the money I think it's the best offering in this segment. I've driven a Velar, Q8, Q7, (GLE doesn't count since the refresh isn't on lots) etc. For 100 large this seems to be a winner. I'm still highly dissatisfied with BMWs failure to meet their own internal goals on vehciles though.

anyways enough with the thread jacking from me

For anyone who is asking about M Sport brakes just get then. $650 is nothing for better brakes that looks awesome!

I am in negation with a few vehicles that my dealer is trying to get. I have kids but the rear entertainment is not a requirement. I currently have it in my current ride and my kids only used it 1 time on a long road trip. They much prefer their iPads. I want NV and B&W.

Do dealers even have ones with B&W? The option only became available a few weeks ago so that might prove hard
