Can Dealer install BMW Assist

I recently took delivery of my '08 335xi coupe. When I ordered the car I decided to save some $ by getting the Dakota Leather, but not buying the ZPP. At the time I didn't realize that BMW Assist was available as a separate option from the ZPP.

After reading through the manual and talking to some other BMW owners who have the BMW assist option, I really wish that I had ordered it. My question is can a dealer install the BMW assist option and if so how much would it cost?

To the best of my knowledge, the retrofit module that's been constantly discussed on this forum is the TCU module, which processes both the Bluetooth system and the BMW assist. You also need a new FZD (panel on the ceiling next to the moonroof) which incorporates a mic (and the BMW assist button). Those two parts alone should sum around $900.00...on top of that you would have the dealer programming fees as well, should you decide to install them yourself... If you go straight to the dealer to have everything ordered there, installed, and programmed, per my quotes, it would cost you $2,200-$2,400. Had you ordered the package from factory: only $750. G/L.
