Exclamation Rear Passenger Seat Belt Buckle Problem

Hello forum members,

I just found out about an issue with one of the rear passenger seat belt buckles. My wife came back from picking up our kids and mentioned that she was not able to buckle in one of the kids in their booster seat. I checked on this when she got back and the "receptacle" does not allow the buckle to be entered. There is nothing to impede the buckle to be inserted now with the children my first thought something was lodged in there possibly food or something else. To my dismay, there was nothing of the sort, the area is clean, I even vacuumed the area to no effect.

Just to being entirely clear, this is the car seat buckle and not a separate child seat buckle so the issue is with the car's apparatus (my kids have just stepped up to a booster with a seatback). I will attempt to go to the dealer tomorrow and see if they can order a new part but since the car is so new they do not have those items in stock so I will have to wait. I guess my older child can sit as an "adult" for the time being but I really don't like doing that for safety concerns.

I am posting this picture (not mine) to illustrate which area is not working. Any other suggestions would be welcomed.

did you try the other seat belt buckle or another belt from the opposing side? It never hurts to verify none fit and the buckle or receptacle is at fault

As an engineer I assume everything is broken until tested

That’s what I was wondering... poor guy didn’t get the intentional wrinkles...

Damn, those seats look good.

The middle belt will only fit into one specific receiver for it. And the two outside belts will not fit into the receiver for the middle belt. This way, the belts can't be unintentionally crossed. Like another poster said, try another receiver and it should work.

I have started having the same issue - randomly stopped working ... the number of defects is crazy on this thing

I moved my car seat to the other side
