It's true. It might not be a bad idea to take it out for a few days, see if you can reproduce it. You'd have to take it out before stopping in the dealership anyway, right?

Good luck!

It's rare, and frankly people have had it before the SSTT too...don't worry unless it begins occurring on a frequent basis...

it's progman, and it refers to the software updates for our ECU.

"Digital Motor Electronics (DME) is a microprocessor-based system that controls the ignition, the fuel injection, the oxygen sensor and numerous ancillary functions. DME provides raw data to an on-board computer that uses an alphanumeric display to provide you with information such as the average fuel consumption, the distance you can still cover with fuel in the tank, an average speed, outside temperature and more. " -google

Newer vehicles say 08+ have V81DME

Cool thank you. At least mine is a late model 08' so I assume it has it.

The exact same thing happened to me. I have had two limp modes over the last two months, both while cruising at 70 miles per hour on hot, humid days with the A/C on.

Since the SSTT basically "tricks" the ECU into thinking the car is running at a higher altitude (where the air is thin, thereby raising boost), then I'd guess that the car limps itself when it registers hot temperatures - and more importantly, thick, humid air.
