I raced him with my m3 and i lost by a little bit.

My 335i is faster then my m3 however, its confirmed because i raced my friends m3 and took it by car and half 2 cars.

I was only able to hang with a 355 hp Porsche Carrera S. I only have a JB1 tune. Good luck! Get a stronger tune!

I don't know why some of these guys think you will get killed. Just look at the numbers.

I think this would be a pretty close race, especially from a stop light. He might take you at higher speeds though. Also, the curb weight of the CLK is almost 500 lbs heavier than the 335, and makes a significant difference. If you are worried, just take him up to a higher elevation, then you should have yourself an easy win.

BTW, edmunds has 0-60 of the CLK550 at 5.2s where they get 4.8s for the 335i.

Weight matters a lot. Just the other day I had a run in with an Caddy STS-V and was able to pull on him (469hp, 439ft-lbs...but 4200lbs+)

MB says it does 0-60 in 5.1 secs not sure about the quarter though.

I think a JB1 335 is more than 320-330chp. I dynod my car with JB1H and got 325whp.

I walked an sl 550 stock. But I think they are heavier than the CLK's.

Well, Im a little suspicious... seems like too big of a gain, but IDK. I did two runs, and both came out to 325whp. I do have duel cone filters and the hotpill, which could be accountable for part of the 45whp.

jb1 will beat a clk550....those cars have alot of torque but suck high end. clk550 was my second option but it wasn't sporty enough for me.

Mercedez are just poorly made in general...Everyone that my family has encountered they were cheaply made...from Sl500 to the Suv...High price and really poor workmanship...The doors feel like light and tinny when you close them and the trunk lid sound hollow! Button feel like they will fall off if you use them too much...Overall I would never go the Benz route. I think they are all about engine and thats it, as far as the race goes, I think it would be closer than most would think! Benzo are pigs off the line until midrange!

You are right about the Caddy--had a few runs not too long ago with one from 40 and 60 MPH, and he couldn't pull on my 135. And my car is stock!

I would think the Caddy would have killed me from a stoplight though.....

I'll put it this way...I put the P0wn down on an SL550, which may be heavier, dunno. Anyway, my car is stock. Biff had the top down and got even with my car while we were driving 30-40 mph and then he hammered it, so I followed suit. Muffy and he did not look happy when I walked them.
