Cleaning the 740M Wheel

So we are now in possession of our G05. The ride back from Spartanburg was rainy almost the entire way and the 740M wheels got terribly dirty. When I cleaned them my suspicion was realized: while they look good on the car, they are a bitch to clean.

1. How does everyone else clean the scallop/channel that runs behind the spokes? This feature caught a crap ton of grit and is the worst part of these wheels IMHO.

2. Does anyone have a wheel brush that will clean behind the M Sport caliper? Clearance is super tight and my wheel brush won't even fit. I could just move the car up a foot but I'd like to clean in place if possible.

3. On the RF wheel there's now a streak of rust going around the barrel (in line with the rotor) that didn't come off with my scrubbing. To be fair, I didn't try my Sonax wheel cleaner on it yet but has anyone else seen this and removed it?

4. Does anyone recommend a wheel specific coating? I'd like to apply something semi-permanent to ease this process going forward. (I'm also looking into a pressure washer)

Easy to clean. Get yourself a good wheel brush and wash mit. You can also get your hands in there to wipe down the M brake caliper. I use my foam gun and lather it up first. I do wax my wheels with quality wax. Treat it like you do your painted surfaces.

I use this one.

That is the wheel brush I have and it won't fit between the caliper and the wheel.

Wax isn't what I'm looking for, I want to coat them. (I, too, have waxed or sealed my wheels in the past)

That section between the caliper and wheel I need to pull foward about 12”. Not much will fit with the big calipers.

I use a wheel woolie fit in between no need to move the car. As for the groove on the backside, I use a dedicated wheel mit

I use a small one and it fits between the caliper and wheel well enough for a good clean.

Try wrapping a wet, old MF towel around a small paint stirring stick to get between the calipers and the barrel. I had my wheels removed and coated with OptiCoat-Pro Plus when I had the entire car coated. My wheel cleaning bucket includes a chenille glove purchased at Advance Auto for $5 that I use to clean the backside of the spokes.

Everyone do yourself a favor and purchase the large Gyeon wheel brush. You will thank me later.

Yeah I guess my OP wasn't clear, I have a wheel brush, a dedicated wheel mitt, and have treated my wheels with a LSP before. I was just looking for tips and tricks for the tight areas/features which are plentiful on this wheel. I'll pick up a wheel woolie to get behind the caliper.

What makes this better/different than other wheel brushes?
