Black Grill: Cerakote

I had the original chrome grill done in Graphite Black Cerakote with a high gloss clear Cerakote top coat. The color is more a extremely deep gray/black like a black chrome which looks great. I'll install it later and let you guys know if it fares any better with rocks than my IND black one which has some battle scars. My Cerakote was the non-bake type so I don't know if it's true finished properties differ from the baked on type by a large margin.

Ignore my dirty car, it rained today randomly for 5 min which was enough to make things messy

It's definitely more graphite in color, but it'll probably match the Shadowline exhaust better. Looks good.

Thanks, I'm still going to buy the X5M grill when we can order one, I like the look better and it will allow more airflow (not really an issue just a statement of fact due to their design). Let's see how it holds up to rocks now

She didn't have a part number but sent an email to BMW. Hopefully we can get at least an ETA. They have everything but the grill.

What else is there in 'everything'? Could you ask for the P/N by chance and see if maybe they got it by now? It would be awesome because then we could all find them easier

I created a thread here for M Performance Part Numbers. I trust that is what we are looking for. This is what the dealer brought up and had access to these parts.

Looks good! I went with a similar approach. Slapped on the OEM Cerium Gray, like our old M40i's. I couldn't stand the massive bling of the chrome grill. Looking forward to that M grill.

So Cerakote is not ideal for the grill, the edge of one side started to chip a little after washing my car today. I need the OEM black grill....
