V3 Problems!!!!!
Well I've had V3 on my car now for about a month and haven't had any problems until 2 days ago. On my way home Wednesday I get on highway and I get a limp mode. Pull over, restart my car and it goes away. Next day exact same time, going home from work and get on highway, limpmode again! This time I pull over and service engine light comes on. Restart car and it feels like I'm on a riding lawn mower. It's sputtering and vibrating so I head back to my store to take out the V3 and it goes into limp mode again, service engine light stays on. I take out V3 and CAI and I start my car and service engine light is still on. I drive home,...about 10 miles and car goes into limp mode again!
Well this morning I take my car into BMW and my SA, whom i'm friends with, whats going on with my car. About 4 hrs later he calls me and tells me thay hooked it up and it showed excess turbo boost which means I had an aftermarket chip on it. I just kinda laughed and said I had a CAI on it, but he knew I had put a chip on it. He told me they had put new software on my car back in Feb. that showed any kinda modifications to my car. Was 29.2 available back in Feb? I got my car back and it's running fine now. Not sure what to do here. Any suggestions? Thanks Lance

Looks like it isn't so invisible guys. I think some people are slightly overconfident about this stuff.

The point is that the OP didn't know what program was in his car, and its seems as though he thought it was not updated with the new 29.2 prg and probably ran the non-doomsday map

^ actually that 's the most on topic thing anyone's asked.
Where you using the Doomsday Map or, because you didn't know 29.2 was out in February, were you using a high torque map? |

No he didn't say anything about voiding warranty. But he said it might do it again if I put a chip back on it. I've known this guy for a long time so he was pretty cool about it.

What is the difference between the dooms day map compared to the regular map other than having "diagnostic "invisibility"? Less boost? Is there a doomsday map for V2? Thanks.

He told me all he did was reset it?? I also told him about the rarttling in my exhaust when I turn my car off and he told me there was some sort of new memo sent out by BMW that the rattling is caused from chipping your car as well. He told me he was going to FAX it to me. When I get it I will post it here.
