Should I spec ZTK on my car if it’s just a daily driver?

As someone who would simply be daily driving the car, would it be wise to drop an extra $1500 on the Cooling and High Performance Tire Package on an already expensive M340i? If so, what are the benefits of doing so?

The only thing to keep in mind is that the front radiator that gets installed is in a pretty vulnerable area under the car. A lot of M3 guys install protectors for straight off the lot.

It's awesome if you plan to track the car, if you don't it's just another thing to watch out for.

Another thing to keep in mind is that with ZTK, you are limited to 19+" wheels which may not necessarily be a good thing for a daily driver, depending on where you drive, lol.

And if you do want 19" wheels... then 791M wheels by themselves is a $600 option. So, with ZTK ($1500), you're basically getting these wheels, plus bigger brakes and an extra radiator for $900 extra. Not a very bad deal IMO.

It's just an aux oil cooler and bigger brakes though. Even though that's "only" $900, it basically provides no benefit for someone not really working the car out. I'm sure the M340i has enough cooling for plenty of spirited driving and the M Sport brakes on the base M340i are plenty for that as well.

If they're trying to prioritize options, then it might be smarter to spend that $900 on convenience features. That's assuming they even wanted 19" wheels in the first place.

If I undestood correctly you get the best looking 792M with NON-RFT and spare tire kit ($750 total), plus bigger brakes and extra cooling
No brainer in my book to order ZTK

On a separate note - BMW, you suck! This would have been a well-rounded rocket for me @ 60K with 6MT.
Alpine white, black grill, Prem Pkg, HK Stereo, Leather, ZTK
Now I have to stretch to G80 M3 Pure to get my stick...

You don't get the spare with ZTK , it comes with the goo and air compressor, well atleast mine is. But agreed it's not a bad deal at all. Originally I got this package just for the Non-RFT Michelin PS4S tires , not even knowing about the upgraded brakes.

According to the order guide, you can't order ZTK with spare tire, and 792M is an option with both ZTK and non-ZTK cars.

They keep changing it on daily basis. Just over the weekend it was set up that once you add non-rft you had to pick 150 spare kit. OR, ZTK and you got the kit as part of it.

The order guide hasn't been changed since February. The build your own site has always had bugs and glitches for years.

The spare tire will not fit over the larger front brake caliper. It also means the if you get a winter wheel/tire package 19" are the min.

That’s good to know
I still think for $900 extra you get a heck of a deal on brakes and cooling

I would NOT get this package...

So many M cars have been ruined because of that radiator...

Didn't know if you get this package you would also get larger brakes. Does anyone have a comparison of the brakes? Between then ZTK and the regular M-Sport brake? Are they both blue?

Now if brakes are not included then it's a useless package
$600 upgrade to 792m with non-rft is all I would have taken

What are the differences between the standard M-Sport brakes vs. the ZTK brakes?

It's basically an oil/atf cooler on the undercarriage of the car. If you puncture it and fail to stop immediately you'll run your engine without oil which tends to do bad things . Insurance companies love to fight about covering these types of issue so keep that in mind.

It's one of those things you just have to be mindful of but it's probably not a big deal as long as you actually plan to seriously track the car. It's probably not worth it otherwise.

Interesting that part of the package doesn't provide protection for this component.

What are the red brakes that I've seen on some m performance parts 330s? Are they the same size just different color?
