JB3 Dyno

I had an opportunity to go out and get my car dynoed with the JB3 beta today. Something to keep in mind is that my boost reached a max of ~15psi and that was only for a split second around 5500rpm or so. This map is silky smooth and actually a little to conservative for my tastes...

Here is my setup:

e90aw335i:

2008 BMW e90 335i
Steptronic
Dual K&N Cone Intake
UR Catless DPs
BMS o2 sims
BMS JB3 Beta

This first graph is the three JB3 runs today:

This next graph is JB3 vs JB2HR (at the time I didn't have DPs but still a decent comparison):

Name: JB3 vs JB2HR.jpg
Views: 1443
Size: 164.3 KB

This last graph is comparing JB3 vs PROcede V3. This is the same dyno, same car, and very similar conditions. I think it is the best comparison possible without doing it on the same day. Please note that V3 hit 17psi on every dyno run that day, JB3 only hit ~15psi today. At the time of the PROcede dyno I was running a beta map but I believe full disclosure should still be given.

Very nice. I guess what everyone will want to know is which one will you keep on? Also, if the PROcede was hitting 17psi, wouldn't turning it down to ~15 yeilded more power? I hope your as good with women as your are with tuners.

I have parted ways with the PROcede due to financial reasons that dont need to be discussed but I honestly dont think turning it down would make more power. If you look at the curve on the PROcede dyno you can tell that the car wasn't pulling timing, it is as smooth as every other dyno I have had.

I can show you another dyno graph with that same setup with PROcede and you can tell where is was pulling timing, I only got ~340rwhp on that run....

VEI boost gauge, and it hit that target three runs in a row.

Look guys, this thread isn't about PROcede or the boost that I was hitting with it. The point of this thread is to provide you guys with results and a very useful comparison. I think PROcede is a great product and shiv is an awesome guy to work with. Lets keep this thread on topic and question based on the results.

If you have any other PROcede related questions please PM me. Thanks....

It seems your dyno with the JB3 is a bit lower than the 2-3 other JB3 335i dynos posted; these other JB3 335i's had similar mods as you (intake, catless DPs, etc.) although I remember one guy dyno'd using ~98 octane. Did you use the same dyno as the other guys? If not, then do you think it's b/c of the different dyno on a different day with a different car?

Either way, these are some great numbers.

I think he is on 93 octane and the other guys are on 100 mixed that's the main reason Kyle correct me if i'm wrong

The other guys that have dynoed so far were Terry, Down4it, and Mr. 5. Down4it and Mr. 5 both have exhaust and intercoolers as well as cooler temperatures for the dyno. Terry's car has the same mods and I do but he had cooler temps as well.

I had Terry send me the run files and I looked at the uncorrected numbers comparing his to mine they are the exact same so I think it comes to do dyno conditions and correction factors.

I know you were just giving me a hard time, nothings new....

I am pretty happy with the power, but now it is time for more mods. I have my exhaust waiting to be put on, now I just need an intercooler....

Terry@BMS and Mr. 5 was running the normal map, Oren was running the higher map. Today I ran a normal beta map, not a race gas map.....

Borla cat delete pipes, and magnaflow mufflers and tips.... All in all it cost me about 500 bucks so it is drastically cheaper than some of the other setups out there. Now I just gotta get it installed, I think I am actually doing that next weekend.

keep in mind HOUSTON is freakin hot right now, you can crack an egg on the sidewalk and it would cook, plus the 4000000% humidity is no help.
