CEL again

So, I took my car in for service due to some unknown reason..was experiencing misfires..and limp modes with CEL. They replaced some selenoid and reflashed my ECU and said they got it...WELL, they didnt. Got the CEL/limp mode/misfire like symptoms again. Bad thing is the shop foreman worked on the car at the dealership last time..so he should know what he is doing right? Well, he missed this one..I gotta go back.

Anyone else have a weird idle..that seems like a sporatic misfire...and then just under normal driving it goes into limp mode and shows a CEL? Or am I the lucky one on this baby...breaking new ground, so to speak?

Could this be SSTT related?..I dont think so.

I might be in the club. I have a somewhat strange idle and limp under normal driving conditions - especially on the hotter, more humid days. And these are the codes I continually pull.

30do - Wastegate 2, Actuation;
3100 - Boost Press. Cntrl, Deact;

Good luck!

Hey Guys, I had this exact issue as well, and it was cam issue, due to the "cam ledge" wearing prematurely. First it was an occasional Limp, then Limp only at WOT.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=113560

BUT in my case when the tech re-installed my cam, he knocked out a rocker and I had to bring my car back for him to realize that he messed up the re-install and cylinder 6 was missing a rocker!!!! At least he admit his fault, where I feel most techs would note: deffective rocker Repair and replaced....

Anyways good luck.... S4to335, where did you take your car for service?

Also my motor is stock....And Fuel pump has already been replaced

Do you know the codes? If I remember correctly, a member named TheLegacy had a similar problem.

Almost sounds like it could possibly be the fuel pump?

If it isn't cost prohibitive maybe you should replaced your spark plugs?

The misfire is only like every 30-180 seconds...you really think it could be plugs?

I've had some rough idle situations, but I've never thrown a code.
I will say though that one of the members here changed out his spark plugs and found a prong missing on 3 of the spark plugs that he changed.

It would be a good thing to check out the plugs.

They didn't actually replace the actual cam shaft, but some other parts, the repair only took a few days. One day to diagnose and order the parts, 2nd day to receive parts and begin install and 3rd day to wrap things up and deliver the car.

Let us know what your tech finds out.

Could be the plugs or wires. It is worth a shot.
