Bluetooth problem

Does anyone has an idea why when I try to synchronise my phone through Bluetooth, it doesn't want to go past the "phonebook loading" part??? Most often it just disconnects my phone, and one time I was waited like 15 minutes for it to load but nothing happened.
I can dial number through the mic, but I want to be able to answer calls and stuff. Thanks guys

I know this is a very old thread - but there were no responses and I'm having the exact same problem. My phone pairs and I can make hands-free calls; I can even use the voice control system. But my phonebook refuses to load and simply flashes "PHONEBOOK LOADING" without ever loading the phonebook. When I ask it to "read the phonebook" it responds that the phonebook is empty.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is? Am I doing something wrong? This is not covered in the telephone manual I received with my manual package.

I have a 2007 Z4 3.0Si. My phone is a Samsung Epic 4G Android and, as I said, it paired easily and works fine.

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can offer.

(BTW - at least you know I used the SEARCH function first - or I'd have never found this thread!)

I paired up my phone and everything worked as expected out of the box. The only thing I did was make sure to update the Nav software to the last version (v32), before I did anything else.

Shamelessly copy pasted from Ron Stygar's post:
Part# 01 59 0 141 891, retail $8.90.

I should have made it clear - I don't have the NAV system.

Hi guys - since you paired your phone successfully, maybe you can help me: I purchased my 2006 Z4 3.0si Roadster from a used car dealer and it didn't come with a radio manual and I am having difficulties pairing the iphone 4. I am not even 100% sure the car has functioning blue tooth: The phone finds the car but when I punch in a pin-code that I believe I am supposed to come up with myself, it doesn't offer to punch it into the radio as well, it just doesn't accept the pin-code, period. I assume my car is equipped with bluetooth since I have the little mic for the hands-free caling on my steering column. Can you help?

Voice dialing does not use your phone book, it is seperate and you must set each voice user up with the commands. Kind-a sucks, but at the same time it needs to learn how you talk.

The bluetooth module should be in the trunk with a sticker that has the PIN on it.
