Simple Question
I'm new to forum I have a 2007 335i coupe with the sport package that I bought brand new last year. My question is very simple (1st Time BMW owner here) how do I know if my car has the factory oil cooler?
Thanks |

You use the "search" feature.
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ght=oil+cooler If you see something like this in your right front fender liner you have one. |

check your front passenger tire well, you should see it there if you have one.

Alright I just looked I have 1 air passage on each side in the fender wells. I dont believe these passages are for the oil cooler, being that I'm under the understanding it looks like a small radiator. Is it located somewhere else on the coupes?

there should be two air ways on the passenger side, one for the brakes , the other for the oil cooler.
also, check your wheel WELL, and see if u see a radiator there. its in the passengers side in front of the wheel, maybe even turn your wheel to the left to see it better. |

Is the one in the wheel well a secondary one? Are there 2? I have what seems to be a heat exchanger across the front behind the lower mesh of the front end (silver in color). Could this be primary one?

If you see a vent in the front passenger side wheel well than you have the oil cooler.

No, that's your intercooler. There's only one oil cooler, and it lives in the wheel well.

I know for sure I do not have on in the wheel well. I guess I was under the understanding the sport package came with the oil cooler. E90AW335i is right. Next question, is it needed? I have not had any issues with overheating. I do not track the car but I am looking at lightly modding it in the future. Am I going to have to buy this oil cooler ? By the way thanks for all your input.

Search around some. There have been people who have got the OC retrofit on BMW's dime and others who payed for it. I'm guessing you got the car used because I do believe all sport pack cars have it now.
