Anyone experienced their BC button going dead? I noticed the MPG display had gone away so I pressed the BC button on the stalk and nothing happened. Haven’t restarted the car but I do like to look at what I’m getting on each trip which so far isn’t too great. Assuming it will improve some once broken in.

It's a known issue that's not resolved yet by software updates. Reboot iDrive by pushing volume/power button for 30 sec and will be good

Awesome! Thanks. I did search for it but I didn’t see anything. That’s really the first bug I’ve encountered after 50 miles of driving and playing with it all weekend so not bad I guess.

I have to find some way of overcoming the frustration I read in these posts. I sure hope you have better luck with your X5 than many of these posters, I mean its just making my favorite auto brand look like a barrel of bumbling monkeys. I am really second guessing my purchase, I just can't see spending $75K for the pleasure of constant frustration. I'm sure I can get that for half the money in another brand. 39 years of BMW ownership, aaarrrggggg, so I had to come up with some way to interject a bit of humor :-) Just wish I could figure our how to embed the video instead of posting a link, but I'm working on it.

How did you do it? When I removed the s and did a preview, it didn't work and when I found the embedding code and pasted that and then did a preview, it also didn't work. I wonder if it just won't work under preview. What's the magic?

All I did was remove the s and pasted the link (removed in textedit but probably could have just pasted and removed the s). I did not use preview but my guess is it doesn't work given your experience.

My car did not arrive at the dealer today. It has been on a transport since at least Sunday. Doesn’t feel good to know it is in such a precarious place for so long. I mean, where could it be? We are only 10 hours or so from the plant!

Frustrated beyond belief.
But to your comment: I still believe the complaints you see here are probably largely human error, and many seem to be resolved by the latest iDrive update. And represent a tiny fraction of owners, most of whom are blissfully driving their cars somewhere, completely unaware of the angst displayed on this forum.

I’m not really worried. I have faith that my car will be fun and trouble-free. I just want my car dammit.
