Floor Mats

Does anyone know if the 2019 Z4 30i sDrive all-weather BMW Floormats are a direct fit for the 2020 M40i edition as well? BMW’s online accessories have not been updated to have the 2020 in the selector, and the mats listed specifically say 2019 30i.

I was thinking of going with those over an aftermarket as I like that they have the Z4 print on it.

Thanks!

I wouldn't worry about a model year or even a LCI for that matter. They will fit.

They fit, have them installed in my car. Only thing I dislike about them is they aren't very long on the seat side. I'm 5'8" and they don't even come to the base of the seat. Not a huge deal, but something to note if you're a driver who bring up their left leg at times when driving for comfort because you might be stepping on the actual carpet and not the floor mat.

Thanks for that insight. I wonder how long it will be before WeatherTech makes a FloorLiner for the G29? I've used them in previous cars, and they are the absolute best for covering all exposed areas.

EDIT: Wait! I had searched a couple of weeks ago with no success. Yet after posting this reply, I decided to venture back out to WeatherTech's website and discovered this:

2019 Z4 30i: https://www.weathertech.com/bmw/2019...er-digitalfit/
2020 Z4 M40i: https://www.weathertech.com/bmw/2020...er-digitalfit/

I would HIGHLY recommend going with the WeatherTech FloorLiners over anything BMW makes for this car.

Agreed 100%. I’ve always used weather tech mats, they just didn’t have them at the time I took delivery mid April

I completely understand. I would have gone with the BMW floor mats as well, if I'd taken delivery when you did. Thankfully I've saved myself $100 due to WT releasing their FloorLiners before my M40i has arrived.

Another floor mat option (albeit for the non-winter months) would be the Cocomats. Have them on our MINI and they look great and wear like iron....4 yrs old now...a bit color faded but material has not worn at all. And I think Cocomats just look great a a roadster...a bit "old school".

I went to the website and really liked what I saw. I might go this route instead of WeatherTech. I have a question for those with their new cars. Does the G29 Z4 M40i have mat attachments? If so, for both driver and passenger side? Examples of a mat attachment would be whether BMW provides some way to attach the mat to the carpet such as: Snap Posts, Twist Posts, Hooks, or Velcro. One needs to specify whether the car has mat attachments when ordering at cocomats.com. By the way, these mats were featured in Jay Lenos Garage and there is a video from the show at the Cocomats.com website.

One other related question: I thought the Z4 M40i comes standard with a floor mat, at least in the United States. What does anyone know about the standard floor mat?

Matts are attached via velcro. The Z4 comes with standard velour matts. Typically the rubber all-weather version is thrown in by the dealership at no cost (at least I always get them at no cost). Mine was installed when I picked it up with the velour ones in the trunk, I have not actually looked at them as I tend to wear them out with my right foot heel. Hence, I tend to stick with the rubber.

German1967 is correct. Mine came with velour ones (carpet) attached via velcro disks that are anchored to the floor (90 degree turn releases them). I had to order my BMW z4 mats myself because the dealership didn't have the specific ones in stock as of yet.
