New individual color "Storm Bay Metallic"

I hope this individual color will be available for the G30 LCI (2021?). It is currently available for the X1 LCI 2020 model. I guess the best way to describe this color is grey ceramic.

I would describe it as shiny primer!

I like it. It goes well with the x-line trim's black plastic bits.

Here are some real world pics of the color. I like the color more on x-line than on m sport.

It’s duck tape silver. Is their any reason BMW can’t just do their classic metallic silver from the 90’s??

If we're taking about colours that BMW should bring back (or bring out after taunting us, as the case may be), may I present, Shadow Chrome:

I would love to see some Frozen options for the X5. A Frozen Grey Metallic X5 would look amazing. I saw an "Urban Green" M5 and, while crazy, it would be a really unique look.

I second that

The plant cannot handle it at the moment. I requested a Frozen X5 G05 and couldn't get it because it comes from the US and they don't have the capability to do it right now.

I would have opted for a Frozen Black X5 which would look awesome I would think.

So looking at this color, Arctic Grey and Carbon Black, are the BMW color engineers unable to distinguish between the various shades of blue and the achromatic gradations of black? Or is the convention of verbal color descriptors completely unknown to them?

Kinda both. BMW signature color is blue in all shades. BMW does blue better than anyone so they mix it in more traditional colors but still will call it the base color. That way the BMW Blue is always showing its presence in certain light. It’s a BMW motif.

This is about as blue Carbon Black Metallic gets but notice you always have black accenting the angles. You never just get one color on a panel.

Beautiful! Just ordered the Ametrin and Arctic Grey with a full Shadowline package, and will be interested to see what they actually look like since we haven't seen either "in the flesh" yet. Wish BMW had a fuller palette, but you're right - they have "hidden" colors underneath their base hues (white, black & red) with, let's say, intriguing names.
