Is coast2coast still the cheapest ?

I've been given a 530D M sport Touring while the bumper on my car is fixed. I'm in love with the bloody thing now and i want to change from my 335D Touring to either a 530D or 535D.
I didn't really want to buy new again but as always there is nothing on the BMW site that has anything near the spec i want so i might be looking at a broker again .............. gulp

Any other brokers to try ?

Try www.broadspeed.com

This is the website used by Top Gear magazine as "the pirce you should aim to pay" in the back pages...

They list standard spec 535d auto at £38,782 here

Coast2coast are looking for £39,047 here for the same model.

Granted, it's only £260-odd quid difference in base price, but if broadspeed are cheaper on options pro-rata when you throw in a few £k worth of toys and extrapolate that forward, it'll add up to a tidy sum.

My old man is just about to order a 300c SRT through them (broadspeed), I'll give feedback on their service as and when I have it...

Scoot, what sort of spec will you be after on the E61 530/535?

Sheps, are those prices for the E60 rather than the E61?

But it comes out at £50000 even with the discount and considering the BMW used site has nothing near that price i would be basically be taking a £15000 bath as soon as i drive out of the showroom.

There are no BMW 5 touring's with the essential Logic,DAB and Sunroof let alone the other stuff. I might aswell by a used M5 at £35000 as the depreciation on my spec 535D would obliterate any fuel savings i would make.

I've rang a dealer to ask if there is any 5 series with those 3 key options to be told that no one wants the Sunroof as it ruins the climate control ? ? ? What a load of crap , its one of the best options!

Wow, that is a monster spec. Suppose it comes down to how long you would keep it if you took the plunge. Evening out the depreciation out over say 6/7 years is a little less painful than 2 or 3 years! Having said that I would never want to own a car with that engine/spec without a cast iron BMW warranty, far too much to go wrong.

Scoot thats some car u wanna get there....i got offered a 530d M sport 08 plate for mad money ...im tempted as it has lots of toys on it ...and they offered me good money for my e92.

I found with no finance owing or to arrange its amazing how far they will go at the minute.

He also offered me a max loaded 135i 57 plate straight swap and 2k.
A X5 good high spec....57 plate 3.0d se swap + 10k

so good time to buy but im like u i love my toys lol and loading one up is hard to do as a private buyer to just give it away straight away or within a year.

All these cars are all Y*57 *** so ex BMW management cars again

Lovely car but not an every proposition in my book. I know, total costs would even out compared with buying a new loaded loaded 535d M Sport, but the fact that you would have an almost daily visit to the petrol station to fill up and hugely increased maintenance costs would kill me!

This 535d M Sport has a panoramic roof but no DAB or Logic.

I'm surprised DAB is a must have option, I found it next to useless in mine, unless its moved on a long way since March - Just kept cutting in and out all the time

What discount have you been offered so far Scoot??

I've only looked at Coast and its about £5500 , I'm not even going down the route of ordering a new one now as i don't want to take that kind of hit.

I've never kept a car as long as my 335D and i've got really itchy feet to buy something and i could do with a larger estate as i've now got 3 dogs.

I don't really fancy the old shape and though i would like a new one i'm not rich enough to lose that amount of money. I'm going to have to sit back and see if i can either find someone as stupid as me to buy a fully loaded 535D and wants rid after a year or so.

I might end up keeping to my original plan of buying a 2/3 year old turbo but then we get into the problem of buying a second car when there are so many opportunties in the property market.

If you do want rid of your car let me know.
Has the little bump been sorted yet?

Dab can be retrofitted and you can add the blaupunkt amp and SWS8 speakers and L7 tweeters for around £500 fitted, so not the end of the world if a 535d doesn't have them Scott.
