Winter tyre sizing
Hey folks
Looking at some winter tyre options to tyre swap on my G05 M-Sport with 740 M 20" wheels. Specs are: Front 275/45, 9.0 offset 35 Rear 305/40, 10.5 offset 40 I've decided on RFT and tyre swap. I've had non-RFT winters, and both tyre swap and wheel swap options before, so know the pros/cons of each scenario. Would like the Michelin Alpin 5 RFT, 275/45 on all corners. No issue on the front but I'd be using narrower tyres on the wider rims at the back. There are very few winter RFT options for 305/40 on the rears. Think Pirelli is the only option. The Michelin's are just within the manufacturers recommended range of 8.5-10.5", but I'm wondering if there are likely to be any issues using a narrower tyre on a wider rim? Appreciate any thoughts/experiences? |

275 width is 10.8”. So you won’t have any sidewall sticking out and it will look stretched on that rim. If it is in spec then there should be no functional issues.
