Question for the experts

Hey everybody. I have a 2008 M3 and live at an elevation of 5,000 ft. People are saying the performace is decreased by 20-25% because of the altitude. Is there any mod I can do to solve this problem? I'd be grateful for any ideas.

I would think an intake to allow the engine to breath better since everyone knows the higher the altitude the less oxygen there is.

Forced induction is the only cure for thin air at elevation.
