What mods are necessary for 330i?

I'm trying to create the list of things to make my 330i completely perfect. What mods I should do at first place?

Nothing is necessary, it really depends on the result you would like to get. Please argue your wishes and we will be able to advise.

Black kidney grilled, DP, bootmod3 and tints. Then throw in springs if you want a more aggressive look

It all depends on you personally. What do YOU want to do with your car?

I personally got a 330i after losing my X3 in a deer accident (unfortunate, I know). I used to do 220 on the X3 and when I hopped in the G20 it didn’t drive quite as smooth as the X3, even though when full boost is initiated it was faster, but it’s not the same, Also, because the X3 was heavier, when I was going 220, it was really stable and smooth even at those speeds. However, the G20 is lighter, gets to high speeds faster, and it definitely feels lighter when you’re going fast. Also, because it slows down in the top range, it can get a little nerve wracking. I wanted to get up to speed faster so I don’t have to sit there waiting for my car to get up to speed (I have never been 200+ with the G20 btw), For a 60K car I want a little bit more out of the money I payed for it..

That’s why I got BM3 on my car, along with a bunch of other mods, you can probably find my posts in the other threads to check those out

But it depends on you. How do you define ‘perfect’?

Depends on your goals; and how long you plan to keep your car. Also not sure how legal car mods are in Moscow (especially a down-pipe and such). I only have my paddles, (which I made) and a tuner (piggyback) from these guys - www.turbotransformer.com

I really wanted a BM3 but I decided to buy the Turbo Transformer because a few people had issues with BM3 and I really wanted something easily removable. There is also burger which everyone seems to have but it is pretty expensive for a piggyback.

according to the experts I found from google searching, no. I really wanted to get a BOV for my 330 but it turns out, these engines don't actually use a traditional blow off valve. If i'm not mistaken they use something to the tune of an electronic waste gate. I still get a whiff of "stutututu" from releasing the gas after boost builds, but like you, I would love to somehow make the sound louder.

Get a aftermarket cold air intake kit like the MST and you will hear the turbo more. Sounds just like a bov.

How is the turbo transformer on your 330i? Any experiences you would want to share? I was looking into the same piggyback tune and since not a lot of people use it, i dont know how it will perform or will it be a headache.

I used it on the M4, and its a fun tuner. its a simple boost controller that allows you to make power and the phone app is nice and easy to use

I've had it since Feb 23. I think it's great; I know a lot of people say tunes are "how the car should have come from the factory" but in this case I truly feel it applies. I had it at 2.6 PSI till last month and them bumped it up to 3, it's a nice increase, takes all the anxiety out of passing on the freeway.

Put it to you this way, the car won't feel like an M-anything...it WILL feel like an early 20teen's 335is. I think in all fairness, out of this model/engine, that's all anyone really needs. That and some PS4's.

From Extreme Power House.

Right now,

Base: 7.7
Delta(PSI):3
Slope: .5

This works for me, and I have a 330i XDrive MSport with the Dynamic Handling pkg. Only other "mod" is a fresh set of PS4S tires.

I strongly suggest first using the default setting, and then do trial-&-error adjustments from there under the custom map till you find something that works for you. I have no daily commute whatsoever...work from home exclusively, and the only time I'm on the road is doing stuff with my kids/ the gym/my wife's "honey Do" list.....everything I need to do where I live in California is within a ten mile radius of my home. It's only on weekends when we go out on a date or with the kids do we venture "far", and getting anywhere in San Diego takes twenty minutes

So that's my setting to comfortably pass the Suburban Oblivious drivers in my area. I would also do a Google search and see how other folks set up theirs...couple of decent threads on here about the TT.

Thank you. Will surely do. Still saving up for it but excited at the same time. Did you have to change your charge pipe since you’re adding boost? I read that if you add boost, metal charge pipe is a must since it can break the plastic factory charge pipe.
