Rear entertainment

If anyone, owning rear entertainment in their NEW BMW, has a patience to read through this and suggest solutions I would greatly appreciate it. (My 2017 had none of these issues)

Rear Seat entertainment

.avi video files aren’t supported on USB-C despite the specs

- Tried various .avi sample files
- Tried all 3 USB ports
- Tried formatting different sticks to Fat38 and exFat
- Car was tested at the shop with an engeneer involved

USB Media library isn’t getting updated (the list shows movies NOT present on the USB-c stick)

HDMI audio very frequently mutes (video continues to play). Sometimes as often as every 2 minutes for approx. 10 sec.

- Tried Netflix through phone’s hotspot
- Tried Roku, Amazon and Android box
- Paid for AT&T in car hotspot – same
- Tried connecting the harddrive with videos directly to the android box with NO WIFI connected – still mutes

Audio is extremely quite when playing movies. Depending on the source, to the point that it can’t be heard at all on full volume

- Tested through different HDMI devices listed in #3.
- Full permission is granted to the rear
- No volume limit is set for the rear

Speed adjusting setting doesn’t work. Volume doesn’t change on the Freeway (general settings-Sound setting-volume setting-Speed volume)

No audio until the car’s engine is started. Once in the car, video starts playing, but no audio.

Can’t toggle between “Individual source” and “Theater mode” unless the car’s engine is on. Both modes are greyed out and not clickable.

If Passenger A watches in “individual mode” and Passenger B watches in “Theater mode”, B cannot adjust the volume.

- The modes sync. If A is in “individual mode”, B changes to individual mode. Now B can only control the headphones volume they are NOT using.
- If B changes the mode to “theater” to control the volume of the car speakers, it fully syncs with A (not just audio source). Now A’s entertainment is interrupted and is playing the same source as B’s (video and audio).
