Self brake change

So I plan on changing the brakes on my gt fairly soon. I've procrastinated and now have the brake light on, so my question is if I change the pads and sensor would that clear the brake light or do I have to take it and have it done professionally

Usually you can clear after changing the pads and sensor using the dash reset but not always. There's more than a few threads about it in the brakes section.

Thanks man it'll be a couple weeks before I have the parts but I'll post and tell you what happens. Preciate the help wise one

I did a brake swap couple months ago, after swapping the pads/sensors and then resetting via the dash:
