Is it possible to have Active Driving Assistant Pro retrofitted?

Really looking for the Adaptive Cruise Control

These driving assistants are not plug-and-play; retrofitting all the necessary components would likely be cost prohibitive.

Thanks. Do you know if it's possible to just get ACC?

Check out this link. Although it is for the last generation of the X5 (F15), may give you a general working knowledge of the parts required and installation.

To be honest i never liked ACC I had it on my last 5 series and found it annoying on long journeys, handy in stop / start traffic but when at higher speeds i did not like it.

Yeah, not the easiest modification. In the two years with my X5, think I’ve used my ACC maybe once?

I love ACC. Use it whenever I'm on highway. It's unfortunate the online new car configurators aren't clear which package includes ACC.

I have Active Driving Assistant Pro and, first of all, I rarely use it with the steering assistance unless I am on a really straight stretch of road. I generally like the ACC portion of the package unless I am in the left-hand lane in heavy traffic. The biggest issue is that, even on the lowest setting, the gap that it leaves between me and the car in front of me just invites people to cut over in front of me because they think I am not keeping pace with the car in front of me. If I could reduce the following distance just a little more, it wouldn't be as much of an issue.

I really want this feature and am willing to pay on my 2019 xDrive x40i. Any idea how much it would cost to retrofit the camera and steering wheel components as well as anything else that might be needed such as coding?

Looks like it is possible.

I am investigating this also.
