Trailer full of 2020 X6M and X5M Competition models seen in NJ

Took these pics a few weeks ago on 287N in NJ. Looked to be three Toronto Red X6M Comps, a Manhattan Green X5M Comp and a Donington Gray X5M Comp. I shared on IG and someone noted that these vehicles had no protective coverings on the paintwork. Maybe these were press vehicles?

I'm still waiting for the dealer to tell me they have their allocation as well for my X5M Comp. I placed the order and gave them a good faith down payment in early January. The dealer says I'm in their order bank, they are just waiting for fullfillment from BMW.

I would say press cars based on color alone.

I'm sure a NA exec could talk his way into a black or white car / any other color choice they really wanted .

In person I don't like Toronto red on suvs
I love red but when I saw a X3M with it it was just too bright on such a large car. I would assume X5 and X6 will look the same although in the coupe form it will probably look better.

Large boxy suvs need a darker red

Isn't that basically a given on any of these M or AMG cars over $100k after the initial hype of a year (+/- 6 months)?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the X5M and X6M are both affected by that Transmission Wiring Recall/Stop Sell notice right?

Did that ever get sorted?

Just chiming in to say I knew that spot the split second I saw the lede image. That's almost the exact spot, to the square foot, where I had this accident:

Even though I have the F86, I picked it over the Cayenne Turbo coupe. The F86 is just way more fun to drive than the Cayenne Turbo. The fact that it is cheaper is just an added bonus. In all fairness, where the Cayenne shines is in its ability to go off-road as we all know that the BMW M SUVs cannot go off-road.

Miss my f85 it was a rocket. The x6m is growing on me. they did a nice job with the front end, and the rear does not look like an afterthought anymore.

I thought about the Cayenne Turbo as well, but decided to wait for the X5MC instead. When I built them both via the respective online configurators, the Porsche is literally $40k more than the BMW for an apples-to-apples spec (or as close as I could get). But other than just money, which is not insignificant, I strongly prefer the look and feel of the BMW interior and exterior (although in fairness I do like the Porsche wheel options quite a bit more than BMW’s).

I test drove the the Cayenne turbo last fall and it was a really nice ride - no real complaints. Hopefully, the X5MC is similarly thrilling and enjoyable on the road!

Just need an allocation before I spontaneously combust.

I've always loved the X5 but the X6 looks odd on the BMW site. Then I saw an X6 on the highway yesterday and it looked amazing.
