340 CarPlay question

Hey guys, I'm finally in the process of getting a new car (2016-2017 340 or 440 ). And I had a question I'm trying to clear up because it makes a difference in what I buy. I understand that only 2017 and up has CarPlay available and you need the navigation package to get it But my question is that if I purchased a 2017 340 with navigation who DIDNT purchase CarPlay originally can I get it put in? This is a game changer for me in whether I buy a 2016 or 2017. Thanks in advanced all!

I just bought a 2017 330 with nav but the PO didnt buy the Carplay option. After searching on here i have understood that I can get it retrofitted. Since this discussion https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...carplay&page=3
