No chance I'm watching this. Can't bear to look at one of the ugliest vehicles produced since the Pontiac Aztek

Good video. I sense a lack of excitement.

Maybe the m235 will be way more planted and exciting to drive.

I wish they sold the M135i in the US. The front is still a bit weird, but overall it's good looking and it all fits together, miles ahead of this one.

The excitement went up when he got pulled over and didn't have his license.

That's cracked me up as well.

I would have been as cool as he was about it.

It's not like they cannot look him up and see if the picture matches up.

Dude got pulled over?! Damn that sucks, hopefully he got out of it. I didn't get that far due to the complete lack of enthusiasm. I love his take of the exterior! "It's a different look... um... It is different..."

Oh, you must've been on vacation when the 5-series GT made its debut then.

That one was pretty bad too, but this is worse in person. I saw one in my neighborhood the other day and would take the 5GT over this in a heartbeat

At the 1 minute mark. What is up with those rear doors???
How do you get in and out without regularly knocking your head against that C-Pillar?

I kinda like the whole car except couple of things: the dashboard looks cheap and underdesigned, and backend is too massive.

Totally agree. The dimensions of this car work MUCH better as a hatch vs gran coupe, and the fwd bias would be a bit more palatable to me. I'd always wished the M140i was in the US as it would've been a solid 4 door option for me.

If you guys in the US had the Euro 1 Series, my betting is that you'd go for that over the 2 GC most times. I simply don't understand why BMW USA doesn't offer it - they're ceding the whole 4-door hatch market segment to Mercedes and Audi.

The Euro 1 series is a great car for more urban environments: 4 doors, fairly comfortable rear seating, sporty, capable of carrying quite a big load with the rear seats down, and fairly small external dimensions. Of course, the M135i xDrive isn't an M140i, but that's a separate issue.

To US eyes, the Euro 1 shape probably looks odd - like someone has shortened the x-axis on a photo' but not the vertical axis. But in reality, especially in an urban/city setting, like the Audi A3/S3 Sportsback, it packs a lot of internal space relative to the eternal dimensions. As with the Audi, sitting inside, you'd think you were in the next or next+1 model up the range. Over the years, I've moved down from a 5 Series Touring to a 3 Series Touring to a 2 Series, and I only opted for my 2016 M235i over the M135i because I wanted a convertible.

The main reason why BMWUSA never imported the 1-Series hatch is because they didn't want it to cannibalize MINI sales.

If MINI folds in the US/Canada I can see the 1er hatchback being offered to replace the vacant segment left by MINI.

Cannot imagine why OP would post this video. He admits that he's had problems for not inconveniencing himself to place the dealer plates on a car before, and says, knowing that, he passed the CHP on the highway, and he couldn't be bothered to remember his own driver license. What are we to think about the OP?
