2016 M4 Competition BSM - The most basic build, ever
Not even sure it’s worthy of being called a “build”, so take that term with a grain of salt.
I picked this up last July and after a 6 month nationwide search, it ended up being for sale at a local BMW dealer near my work. Part of the reason it took so long to find is I had a very specific criteria: - M4 - ZCP - 6 speed - Sunroof - Not Austin Yellow or Yas Marina Blue - Under 30k miles - No accident history The car I ended up finding ticked all the boxes except for having a sunroof. I picked it up with 24k miles and it’s a BSM - currently at 34k. The day I brought it home my wife told me she was pregnant with our second baby. It was bitter sweet but I wish I knew before I took delivery as I would not have gotten the m4 but would have held out for an m3 in its place. I guess the M4 will be seeing two car seats now lol. Just did spark plugs and OEM drop in air filters. I’ll admit, I like the CF roof now that I have it. Now, after owning it for 9 months, I’ve finally started doing some basic and simple mods: - Swift lowering springs - CS replica carbon fiber spoiler - 12mm MS spacers all around Truth be told, I’m not sure there’s anything else I really want to do or anything I feel the car needs. I may possibly do a midpipe purely for sound. A front lip would be nice but the car already scrapes my driveway. I’m pretty happy with the stance as is, I just feel like the front needs something. So that’s it. Any ideas for simple things I can do would be great. The car is plenty quick for me as is. I also have a CBR 1000rr that I do track days on, but may be selling the bike and exiting the hobby. Having kids puts things in perspective and after having an accident on the road recently, I’m thinking twice. Thanks for looking! |

Welcome to the family
I’d do the following (in this order) 1. AA midpipe 2. LCI shadowline tail lights 3. OEM Rear diffuser 4. OEM MP side skirts 5. Lightweight front lip 6. Blacked out headlamps (I’ve had a great experience with modemporium and they’re on Long Island) 7. TLG mud flaps |

In shopping for a front lip I’ve made the decision it’s going to be a replica. Here in NYC there’s no point spending a lot on a CF lip. It needs to be polyurethane. But I’m having a hard time deciding....from what I’ve seen, the Lightweight lip and M Performance are the best for those who are lowered and concerned about clearance. It doesn’t look like those add a lot of depth to the front bumper, which is what I’m looking for. Is there a general preference between these two for cars that are already lowered? Of these two lips is there any particular one that offers more clearance than the other?

Front lip installed. I think I’m content with the car as is. Mechanically stock and has some simple cosmetic mods. I was planning on doing more engine mods but I’ve had a recent change in heart and I decided that next year I’d like to add an e92 m3. Not selling the f82 though, but I’ve always had a special place in my heart for a 6mt e92. So instead of doing more to the f82, that money is going to go towards saving up.
