Keebin's Yas Marina track build

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hi guys i picked up my F80 a year ago and i've been modding it by myself and with a few friends i figured i'd start a real build thread since being inside has become the new norm.

Last year i was really looking for a Yas Marina F80, my wife working for Porsche had a 911 gts and me working for another German oem i just knew this was my car. i wanted a stripper model due to the fact i was going buy the car outright and just run the warranty in to the ground. (i wish i got LED headlights) it did have some creature comforts EDC, and some m performance goods also rear sunshade!! to block the haters when i don't signal.. i've had so much fun meeting people and wrenching i joined BMW CCA. BUT ON WITH THE BUILD!!!!!!!!!!

i had just got this car from a one owner couple who did a euro delivery on the car, picked it up with little over 20k miles so not bad for a 2015. first thing i did was put REALLY BAD TIRES ON IT lol.. Federal RSR have to be the most loud tires ever..

I started with Swift lowering springs was really excited due to the fact i wanted to retain my EDC.. but once you start modding you just cant stop..

Love the color! Interesting that for a track car, you decided on Swift springs vs a coilover setup?

Looking forward to see what else you’ve got in store

I put the springs on with some wheels spacers 15 in the front and 12 in the rear its such a good looking combo! picked up some oem spilters but i couldn't stop.. on my work trip in Germany i wound up driving all the way out to KW headquarters.. it sits in this little farm town. i figured why not i was in Germany for two weeks.. and maybe they just might have the coil overs... well they did not lol but was fun to see the company we all know and love in person they were really nice!! but a friend turned out being a KW dealer lol and i got the coils for a really big discount.. i legit had these springs on maybe a month before i went to V3's with EDC deletes.

So i come back from Germany little sad i couldn't grab some super cool rare parts but it was one of the best work trips i've ever had! i placed an order for a set of V3's with EDC delete's i really wanted club sports but* i loved the fact that i can get free rebuilds with V3's with none for the Clubport's. I also i figured 4-6 track days a year and i can send them in for rebuilds if needed and lets be real i'm not going to be setting any crazy times lol.

The coils came in and i couldn't have been happier, few thousand on them now and they are still doing great!

Shout out to my co worker Kev for letting me use his garage and quick jack.

When i picked this car up i contradicted my self so much, i stated at the start of the build that i knew i was going to mod and blah blah blah.. but if you had asked me the month prior to getting this thing i would have told you nahhh stock lol..

Me and my wife wound up going to japan last June and when i was there i knew about SudieAG.. me being obessed with Nissian's/Nismo (i've owned many 240sx's/370Zs) i lost my damn mind when i found out that japan had its own tuning shop dedicated to BMW and better yet i could hop on the train to Yokohama... remember when i took the L in Germany with no Über cool parts lol.. well the car gods really hooked it up.

you bet i rode the hour train ride back with oversized packages i could kinda barely carry!!! i even took them as carry on's in the air port lol.

i met the owner and i got some super cool parts!! peep the trunk situation ill have to post a pick of them after installed them. Also my trunk was a mess when i was starting the install! lol

Car god's really paying it forward!

Wound up replacing most arms and went SPL links and some GC camber plates. i really wanted to mess with track width and caster. I also wound up getting a good deal on Awron gauge.

These coilovers rock! i feel they ride much nicer then the oem setup! and with just a few clicks you can go right in to track mode! right now mine are pretty stiff from the last track day i did!

That's pretty tight. I might have to get a cross brace made for back there!

Car started to look really good i purchased a new M performance lip i really liked it for a while. i also raised the car up a bit and dialed in some camber as it wasn't that useful to have the car dumped. At this pointed i started to go in a more technical build with suspension more and more on my mind.

For sure. The dumped look is bad. Should look natural
