What's the difference between the 330e’s eBoost and Xtraboost?
The manual says that eBoost is the electric motor supporting the combustion engine during kickdown, and Xtraboost is a setting in Sport mode to use the electric motor to give max sporting performance by supplementing the combustion engine.
But aren't they one and the same thing? If not then what's the difference? |

Ah ok, that makes sense, thanks.
So do you know the difference in terms of hp? Eg does eBoost during kickdown give 50hp and the Xtraboost in Sport mode give all 112hp? And what about during normal hybrid mode? |

You never get all the HP form the electric motor because some of it is being used to drive the transmission and other components.
Beyond that, you need to hear from other 330e owners, my 530e doesn't have that feature so I can't help on it. |

So the car has 184 on the ICE, 252 on normal driving (except eco pro where it only uses eBoost on kick down) and 292 in Xtraboost so the electric motor is providing 68hp in those modes but 108 in Xtraboost (and 4 are lost to drive other components as Steve said).
