Seriously, I thought a fair review, and he highlights some of the pro's and con's. It was a non-starter for me because of the boot size and rear headroom.
He didn't highlight what I feel is the biggest issue - the looks. It very much divides opinion, with few, it seems, ambivalent. While it looks better in person somehow, I'm definitely not a fan. |

It's a shame they made it look like a big X4. Superb car but no looker. The first generation of X6 will always be my favourite as it was different yet sporty. The current version just looks boxy.

I like it, think its yet again another BMW that looks better in person than on video/photo. However, i'd never buy one.
It is not better than an X5 in any way and doesn't offer anything over and above the aesthetic which, in any event seems to vary from person to person. However, to charge an extra £2k for less practicality, less boot space and no split folding boot? No thanks |

I had F15 X5 and F16 X6, and now I’ll collect a new G06 X6. My experience is that the driving dynamic is very different. X6 driving is more like a GT car, with more car feeling in turn cornering as X5.
Less space in the back it’s not a real mess, because there is only less space in high, than I’ve ever transported the same things done with the X5 (I’ve also the automatic trailer for my water scooter and my bikes holder). Sorry for the following compare: X5=Bentayaga X6=Lambo Urus ![]() |

We just got one for my wife and it is the only crossover she wanted. My wife's number one criteria was looks, followed by power and finally brake feel. No way was she going for the plane Jane X5. She liked the e-tron drive, but didn't think the looks warranted the price. Also, not a single Mercedes did a thing for her. She likes edgy designs and she likened the X6 to the Urus which we couldn't afford.
It also helps she got the V8 in the launch color blue. |

In a huge mass of conventional SUVs, X6 was a pioneer as a SAC model...
After several years almost everyone has a copy of the concept! When you choose an X6, you'll not look after practicality in the first place 😁 Poor review overall 🤨 |

I enjoyed my 2004 & 2014 X5's, both with 4.4 V8's but they started to look like all the other SUV's on the road, especially the "hockey stick" rear taillights. I really like the redesign of my 2020 X6 M50i & it gives me that exclusivity that I like. The power and handling of a vehicle that size is unreal. LOVE IT

Same with German engineer in this article: motorauthority.com "Rainer Steiger, BMW’s chief in charge of the X5 M and X6 M, told us that it would take a lap around Germany’s Nurburgring-Nordschleifie for him to identify each vehicle in an incredibly dangerous and purely hypothetical blindfolded driving test. Certainly, my sprints along the winding desert roads near Prescott revealed identical roadholding, and I left my blindfold at home. " |

I love the design, especially back compared to X5 looks so much better, and kidney grill shape and size fits perfectly. It looks very original in Manhattan green colour as well, so definitely looks attract to this vehicle.
I was battled myself between X5 and X6 and much more practical ( 7 seats and useable 800l cargo space ), lower price wins for me.
