Type of Nav system in '07 Z4si?

I had a '99 Z3 for six years and loved it. I got a loaded 330i two years ago, but I miss the conv. and manual tranny.

I am looking at an '07 si with a nav system.

I doing my research, I come across several models of nav system that come standard in BMWs.

I have a split-screen nav system in my 330i and I was wondering which model nav system is in an '07si and how does it compare to the version in the '06 330i?

Thanks, in advance for your assistance.

The nav in your E90 is iDrive. Completely different system then the one in the Z4.

The Z4 uses the dvd based system from the E46. Both have pros and cons. For what I need (the occasional navigation during road trips), the Z4 nav is just fine.

i agree, it gets the job done but functionality wise, it seems so obsolete. i used to have an pioneer avic d-2 on my previous car and that was installed 2 years ago and it was great. multiple map view, intuitive menus, touch screen, real time traffic updates. i think the 07 navi is no different than the ones first introduced in 03-04 (they just release updated maps)...
