Any tire recomendations?
2017 335 GT, I went about 50k on the stock tires and they are done. I have winter tires, so I don't need something great in the snow, but living in New England, good rain traction is a must. I normally like Hankook, but the ratings for the Ventus I usually get for my sportier cars aren't good.
Thank you! |

Michelin PS4S are definitely the top rated. For summers I went Potenza S-04 Pole Position, they aren't quite as highly rated but still very good, and at the time I bought them the PS4S were about 50% more.

I would also recommend Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires. Probably the best all season performance tires on the market, and cheaper than PS4S's.

Coming from domestic performance, and track days where hankook 712s were never the deciding factor in my lap times vs Goodyear F1 steels (dated I know), as long as my tires roadforce balance, run and wear true I've thought to seek value since my experience as a driver has always been more the limiting factor for me. I despised my BMW's conti runflats because after dealer balancing and a wheel truing (supposedly), they were shaky over 40mph always and even worse in cold weather. I reviewed, weighed pros and cons, and for me decided to try firestone Indy 500s as a balance of performance and cost, along with availability in the sizes I chose in case of catastrophic failure. So far, I only have 100 miles on them in this covid environment but I've been pretty happy so far. My GT will likely not see a track, but if I do decide to do a track day I'm sure they would be right at home and I wouldn't ever out drive them. No clue on wet performance, yet, or wear effects since this is my first set of Firestone's ever. |

kmenard, can you share more details about your tires requirements?
- Run flat or standard? - OEM size or some other size? - Square or staggered? - Summer or all season? |

+1 on the Conti DWS06. I got 60k mi from them on my Audi S4, and just installed a set on my 3GT a few weeks back. I commute 25k-30k mi/yr, and the DWS is good balance of dry/wet grip and long tread life. I have a set of winter tires, but a dedicated summer tire would be too soft and wear to quickly.
I read several reviews prior to buying this latest set for the 3GT, and it seems like the Conti DWS and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ are very comparable. |
