F10 M5 brakes on an M2

Other models use the same front calipers as the 2NH set up - generally in blue - but without the mounting brackets required for the M2.

Are there any aftermarket sources of same?

TIA

I'm confused by your question. What exactly are you looking for, the calipers or the brackets?

The brackets. The calipers are readily available on eBay.

But, without the mounting brackets to use them on the F87.

Would the M2C brackets work?

They are not available separately from the caliper according to the etk. There are companies out there that "could" make custom ones

Blue f10 m5 calipers are subtly different to ccb/2nh calipers for F8x (same as F10 m5 ccb calipers)

Oem 2nh brackets won't work with f10 m5 calipers if using 2nh 400mm discs

It's not going to be cheap but these guys make the rotors and brackets required. I looked into these guys back in 2016 and they used to have full m5 brake conversion kits but not anymore.

I was expecting to have to use the correct disks (they only fit the M2C), but the way the pads are common to several other models looked interesting if you could get some aftermarket mounting brackets:

I dunno if I trust these guys. Ive seen broken discs of theirs online and bought their SS pistons and high temp seals and was not super impressed. Quality looked good but the high temp seals perished in 3 trackdays same as OEM. SS pistons looked nice but had some very thin material sections that im not sure would last. Car with the kit was sold before I could endurance test it.

M2C discs + correct pad for that caliper (there are tons) + either 6 piston caliper + homebrew bracket would get you there.

Why you would do this instead of buying 2NH brakes off someone that upgraded to APs for example I dont know. (or just get APs directly if you are really serious about tracking).

I've seen alot of good and bad about RB, but lately they seem to have decent reputation with GTR guys using their BBK's on hard track duty cars without any issues. But yes no seals will last too long on brakes that see track use, ive seen track orientated BBK's with seals still fail over time.

Also a reason why AP racing may not be a good idea is if you daily your m2 in harsh climates with alot of dust and road salt and slushy snow, because they will enter your caliper and cause issues. For a street car in a decently clean environment say LA or most of Australia for example, a good way to prevent debris entry is when you do pads wipe the pistons before pressing them back into the caliper this achieves the same thing external seals will.

100% correct, my APs should be coming in soon!!! We will see how they do in NL. They salt the roads here but not so often and im usually not driving then.

Brakes and tires are one place I would not compromise on with "they shouldnt fail" haha.

I think RB updated their calipers now with better pistions, and their discs have different retainers so they shouldn't fail according to guys who use it on their GT350r's. So I am intrigued by RB's line up, but it is indeed sketchy to have brakes that you do not have full confidence in when tracking the car hard. So I too am looking at AP racing.

PS: They fixed their site so it has the CCB calipers included along with all the parts needed to retrofit them

M50,

If wanting to pair F10 M5 blue 6pot brembos to M2C 400mm discs using oem F8x CCB/2NH adapter brackets you will have to add ~ 5mm spacers between caliper underside and adapter to ensure correct standoff between caliper and disc

HTH,

F10 calipers can be used on the M2 with 400x36 discs.
However they require custom brackets.
I have done the conversion with the intention of installing on my M4, but sold everything.
I can still supply the brackets if you are interested.
Gold calipers and F10 blue calipers are slightly different, gold caliper bracket will not work with the blue caliper.
If interested PM me

David
