BMW servicing
Does anyone know the service schedules on a 320i.
I can't find any information on this. Are the service packs value for money, or a rip off, and what is scopes included in the service packs. Car is due for its first service at 9000 miles, and as far as I know its just an oil and filter change. |

Service packs are in general priced towards the dealer, especially the new pay monthly ones. But it depends on your mileage, how you use the car etc.
For my M340i, it would be £900 for the service pack covering 3 years. I worked out I would use it twice in 3 years so almost double the cost of an actual service pay as you go. The service packs cover oil, filters, 1st brake fluid change (but not the second). Google BMW service pack and you can see how much it would be for your car. I've attached mine. You can see it'll cover 2 services in 3 years. All service schedules are mileage and condition based in BMWs. IDrive will show you when the car thinks it is due. Under vehicle information.

Surely that must be 18k miles or November 2021? So you're indicator is showing it's due in 9k miles not at 9k miles?

Are you sure? It's never been the case on previous petrol cars I've had. They're either set to fixed intervals (circa 10k / 12 months) or variable (24 months / when the car tells you).

If you can find a dealer who will let you! 2 of my local dealers won't entertain it.
I believe it's becoming more difficult in general.

So my first service is due 2 yrs after I brought her. Which is why the service pack is poor value. I think the G series have longer service schedules because my M140i had her first service after 12 months. Here's the schedule for my M340i:

@del82 That's more what I'd expect - 2 years or when the car tells you, which is typically referred to as variable / long-life service intervals. Seems very odd to have 12 months / 10k mile intervals in this day and age.

Agreed. I just do what my car tells me!
