Angry Pillar between front and rear windows

That small black strip between the front and rear windows seems to EASILY scratch. I have washed it only twice so far and am using Vroom microfiber towels from Target.

I just noticed minor swirl marks which I am assuming are from the towels. I am wondering if anyone else has noticed this or if there is a way to get rid of them. They are the first marks on my brand new car

Thanks guys.

That part is plastic and softer than your paint, so it will scratch easily. depending on how large/deep the scratch is, it may have been from a variety of causes. You might be able to polish it out though.

I had the same deal going on...went over the trim piece with a DA using Meguiars 205. Came out real nice...here are the pics from my detail write-up

The stock gloss trim is extremely easy to scratch. That's why I had all my trim wrapped in matte black vinyl.

I forgot what polishing compound I used but it was very mild stuff, like Menzerma PO85RD with a green pad on a Porter Cable or maybe a white pad. I forgot. But those scratches were easily buffed out on my E90 trim.
