****Help Needed: Vendor Refusing to Honor Refund Terms****
I purchased an Active Autowork SSK for my M3 from Supreme Power Parts via the group buy. After receiving it I found that the quality of the kit is sub-par.
I talked to Jeff at Supreme about my intention to return the kit and get a refund, and he agreed to refund me 100% ($299). He also gave me a reference number to write on the return shipment. So, I shipped back the brand new kit knowing that I would get a full refund, and it was delivered last Wednesday (10/1). The day after (10/2), I called Jeff, and he said it will be processed very soon. At that time I asked him again about the refund amount, and he said $299. And today, after realizing that I still haven't received the refund, I called Supreme. And now Hubert says that Jeff is fired and that they want to charge me a 25% restocking fee. I am very frustrated how Supreme, a well-known vendor on this forum, would not honor the terms their employee put forth. I hope this says enough about the business ethics of Supreme. Now, what can I do? -------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: Quote:
However, I must make it clear that Jeff offered me both options of store credit and full refund credited to my cc. He asked me to look around first to see if there was anything I needed from SSP so that I can use the store credit. But in the end I didn't need anything and HE AGREED TO ISSUE ME THE REFUND AS LATE AS LAST THURSDAY. Here is the common sense part of this: I can easliy sell this SSK on the forum for $299 (actually one was just sold: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=175514). So why would I lose $75, waste money on shipping, and get into this dispute?! Oh right...They told me that I would get full refund. Quote:
So who was that person that told you I was looking for SSP?! I would love to hear the name. Also the return package was already delivered to your shop before BMFeast, and I was already told by Jeff that I would get full refund last Thursday, so why would I still look for you? Please. STOP LYING. The forum deserves the truth. Last edited by rzm3; 10-09-2008 at 10:11 PM.. |

Doesn't matter if Jeff was fired, he was an agent/employee of the company and as such Supreme must honor whatever deal he made with you. Just tell them point blank that if you don't get your money back you will file a suit against them in small claims, and report them to the BBB and their local chamber of commerce.

Don't play games anymore, sue his ass. Best part is he'll have to travel all the way to where you file it. In this case, the other side of the country!

+1 Also, keep spreading word of their trickery around, make them suffer for going back on their word. A person that can't honor a business agreement, whether verbal or written, shouldn't be in business to begin with. Make it the most expensive $75.00 they ever attempted to charge anyone. Just make sure you can back up your claims.

Wow, everyone is just throwin SPP under the bus right away. There's always two sides to a story. I got my CSL reps from SPP and they were great. I know they will clear things up, everyone just take a deep breath....

Well, for one, I consider a 25% restocking fee to be ridiculous. It's a rip-off, pure and simple. Here's why: If I were to buy a PROcede for $1500.00, and return it because I was not satisfied with the product and Vishnu were to charge a restocking fee of $375.00, I'd say that's insane. $375.00 to repackage, shrink-wrap, and place a box back on a shelf? That's just nuts, particularly if I'm paying the cost of shipping it back. $10.00 to $25.00 maximum seems (almost) reasonable. I'd be curious to see SPP's side of the story as well, but so far their business practices seem burdensome to say the least.

You dont have the product on hand, and they agreed they will refund you in full amount...
then i think i can file claim with your CC company... they will deal with it...
