Don't put your rear wheels up front by accident...

I just changed from my winter wheels and tires (square 20" 740M wheels with General Grabber AT3 tires) back to my summer wheels and tires (staggered 21" 741M wheels with Pirelli PZero tires). It's been a while so I forgot the summer wheels were staggered and put one of the 10.5" wide rears up front. This resulted in the inner edge of the wheel rubbing against my upper control arm.

The powder coating on the inner rim is scraped and some small areas of bare metal is showing. I don't think any meaningful amount of metal was scraped off. It's not as bad as it looks in the photos.

Do I need to have these powder coated again or just hit them with a coat of Rustoleum to protect the bare metal or just leave it and drive?

I would check the rim with a milling machine for roundness and to remove the sharp edges and mill the rim smooth. As it is the inside of the rim I would just spray paint them.

Maybe I'd suggest getting the two wheels re-balanced?

My question is, when you mounted the wheel onto the hub, did it not hit the control arm? Or did it only hit when you lowered the car which would have imparted some camber, only then hitting the control arm?

It mounted up fine, flush to the hub, and torqued to 100 ft-lbs.
The control arm looks OK. Just a little scrape where the wheel was rubbing.
Maybe the real lesson here is that with a 5 mm spacer you could do a square 315 setup
