Front license plate no-drill mount for X5 45e?

I have been searching the forum for a no-drill solution to mount a front plate on an X5 45e xLine with ACC.

One solution that *I think* would work is a Slybrackets mount:

https://www.slybrackets.com/store/BO...LES-p110722372

Another one would be a Gravenspeed which mounts on the towing eye in the front bumper - however, if I am not mistaken, this solution blocks one of the front parking sensors, which is honestly not great:

https://www.cravenspeed.com/the-plat...e/#description

Does anyone have direct experience with either solution and care to comment on how they work "in the field"?

Of course any different suggestion would be more than welcome!

PS: I have also looked into Carbonio brackets, which look great but unfortunately it seems to me that they only work for cell-shaped grills (M-Sport), and not for xLine horizontal slat grills:

i went with the SlyBracket BUZZmount for mesh grille + leveler (adjusts angle). i believe the horizontal grille is designed for the xLine slats.
from what i've seen, tow hook mounts can be flimsy and they also cause the license plate to block one of the PDC sensors.

Sly Bracket without the angle bracket on a x45e. Works well!

That would never work with the driver assistance radar that many get with their cars. OP, search for the SlyBrackets posts on the forum for details.

Front license plate no-drill mount for X5 45e?

Thank you all for chiming in.

I had seen those threads and searched for slybracket, but still wanted to ask the question because almost all the pictures that I saw on those threads were of MSport trims, not xLine with the ACC radar in the center of the grille.

Unless I missed something, the only xLine pictures are those that vtshack posted here (which however are of an xLine with no ACC, which is a setup that wouldn't work in my case), a couple of pictures of a tow hook mount (which I am not excited about either) and one picture of a slybracket on a 2019 thread, which however seems to be a mockup and not an actually installed plate.

So I thought I would ask if someone could confirm that one of those solutions (and I think that basically my best bet would be a slybracket) actually works on a 45e xLine with ACC and won't cover any of the sensors/radar.

Thank you anyway for the good pointers.

Anyone put a no drill front number plate on a X5 45e Xline which has a radar in the front.

I use the BUZZmount on my M Sport bumper, but they have a version for the xLine bumper

$8, 2 pieces of 3M outdoor rated velcro. No harm to black plastic / paint. You can also easily remove your license plate in 0.5 seconds to wash behind it. No, nobody will think to steal your license plate.

I had bought a Slybracket mount to experiment with (I am still unconvinced that it would work without partially obstructing either the radar or one of the front bumper sensors as the available space is tight) but eventually decided to go with no front plate. Where I am in CT there are tons of cars that don't have one and thankfully it's a requirement that doesn't appear to be strictly enforced - so far so good, and the car looks so much better!

For those that do go different routes to avoid putting the holes into the bumper, what good does it do for you? It seems like you're just doing the next owner a favor. For me, no plate until asked to And if needed, it goes to where it's supposed to. That's its best position imo.

Slybracket

I went with the Slybracket for my (soon to be delivered) 2022 X5 45e. The bracket arrived before the car, obviously. My delivery date is next Monday, and once I mount the Bracket, I will post a pic. Here is another BMW with the slybracket mounted (photo) from another forum (too bad his dealer drilled his bumper).

I plan to do mine off to the same side, to prevent drivers assist hardware interference. I think it looks great, and will look particularly nice with the black legacy CA plate.

Thanks for the post. I just ordered the same setup (with leveler) for my new build (arriving in one week).

I honestly wont put it anywhere it can block the airflow to the radiators/coolers.. I went with the Tow hitch plate from Platypus. Though If you park in the city and the risk of getting hit while park is high. Avoid this choice as the damage might go to your frame instead of the bumpers.

Good point. I'll monitor temps on hot days and long drives. Unfortunately, we drive into the city and SF, so we need the parking sensors to be 100%, especially with my wife driving lol.

I just got the SlyBracket. At first glance it's very well made. Just waiting for the car to arrive lol.

I'd really rather not put a front plate on my in-production X5. I just moved to Texas earlier this year; anyone care to weigh in on whether law enforcement cares about that sort of thing in this state?

Do you have any feedback on the Carbonio brackets?

I have Carbino and it works great. I have the front radar thing and it doesn’t interfere.
