Another 2022 45e scheduled for production

... but this time it's mine

Submitted this morning. I'm told it's for week 32, much sooner than I expected.

Will be doing PCD back to NY.

Thanks to all the fellow members here that gave me suggestions and guidance prior to my order. Real MVPs.

Very nice - heading down from beautiful Newark airport probably second or third week of August to pick mine up.

Wow you put the order in this morning and it's already scheduled for production?

My order was last month and it's still Order Received.

BTW, how long does it usually take from Scheduled for Production to Production Begin?

And which step is the last to make changes?

It varies but usually it will go to the Production Begins status about two weeks before your build date.

As long as you don't have individual options, you should be able to make changes until the VIN is assigned which is done at Production Begins.

I guess I got lucky with my dealer having an allocation for me. Good luck.

My 2022 45e has a week 31 production date and my SA just sent me this unexpected update:

"I just received a bulletin that removed the Fineline Stripe Brown High Gloss Wood Trim from all models to avoid a delay in production due to shortages. The Production line has added the "Anthracite-Brown Poplar Matte Finish Wood Trim" to your vehicle."

Anyone get a similar update on their MY22 order? A little hard to understand how the chip shortage could affect the trim.

It's not just a chip shortage, a lot of different things are impacted. I remember reading here that there was a plastics shortage as well.

Btw, in my opinion the poplar looks great. It was my first choice, but got overruled by my wife and had to go with the fineline stripe brown trim.

Did you see the change in My Garage website as well?

can't think of it as just electronics chips that go into our vehicles but chips that operate the manufacturing plants that make the various products (electronics, fabrics, textiles, etc).

just wanted to give an update to anyone constantly checking.

X5 45e ordered last week of June - just got a production date of week 33. BMWUSA rep stated that no production limits on any technical items (individual leather, m sport, DAPP, parking pack, heated/cooled/massaging seats, etc.) were being limited "at this time" but I see that they have switched us from Fineline trim to Poplar....

Let's see if that holds though.

Last night MyGarage was updated for my MY22 45e order (Week 32 I think?). I had picked Fineline Stripe, but now it's showing Brown Poplar. Haven't heard from my SA yet.

It sucks to not get what you wanted. Hope it's not a deal killer for you guys.

Poplar matte wood is my first choice since carbon fiber isn't available. I was hesitant at first until I sat in one recently, I know I made the right choice!

Don't mind the mess. Found this X5 in my local body shop for body repairs.

Hmm, my 45e build has gone to "production begins". Maybe I should go and finish negotiating a deal with the dealer?
Phytonic Blue with Coffee Merino. M sport with 741 wheels, DAPP, Parking, Climate, Premium, Extended shadowline, Blue brakes, multi-contour seats and a trailer hitch.
They did change the trim to Poplar.

For those who have their trim change, are you leasing or buying/financing?

My build got pushed from week 31 to 32 and now to week 34. No idea why. Placed order mid June.

I would think negotiations take place before ordering the car? Would suck to wait 1+ month to not come to an agreement.
