After seeing the "no touchscreen" thread, I am trying to confirm if my m50i who just entered production on 21st still had it, and I discovered this in MyBmwUSA.

The Parking packing online for the M50i is now only $800 - I don't have the screen shots, but I thought that was over 1k before, but not sure.

Anyone else have this issue? ugh. This isn't by any means a dealbreaker, but the touchscreen might be. Waiting to hear from my SA on what's the latest, but if you have a car in production, please check.

I don't know if I'd use this feature much (I can think of a few relative's house where this would be handy) and it's probably making a lot of you go "you can have mine!" but it's more that this is just another stealth delete. I'm half afraid I'll get to the dealer and i'll just be an X1 w/ a 5 taped over it and the dealer will just hand me a $500 check and say all the differences were "cut features" lol.

My 40i isn't showing "deletion" of anything on mygarage, but I feel that there were more things under "driver assistance pro" than there were, but I can't verify that.

I should clarify - this was buried WAY down in the "standard features" online in MyGarage. See below for entire section.

The "Parking Assistance Package" was always $800, at least since June 4, 2021 from the pricing guide that I can see. But yes this would suck to have another feature cut...

Then I'm more annoyed that they cut a parking package feature and didn't discount it. I definitely want a refund for this, because it was a feature that was advertised.

At some point, a 95k luxury SUV w/ less features than my mates 3 yo base model x3 that cost half the price is just gonna make me really salty. If the no touchscreen thing hits me, that's gonna be really tough.

If the "no touchscreen" thing hits mine (which entered "Production Begins" on 10/19), I will back out. It really is the last straw. I do already have the line item stating that the Backup Assistant was deleted.

My order was just placed today for X5 45e. This is concerning to say the least. Do I get notified if a feature is missing? Am I able to accept, wait, or cancel the order based on it being decontented?

Our SA told us we can cancel the order last minute if we are not happy with the final production of our X5 xdrive45e. In my experience so far, no one at our dealership has been notifying us of any changes. It seems they are learning about missing features by the day. I've been relying on the wonderful people here at bimmerpost for more reliable info.

When you get to Production Begins a VIN is assigned so there won't be any more changes (I guess in extremely rare there could be but in general the build is locked once a VIN is assigned).

Sadly, that's not true. Mine went to production begins last week, received VIN. it did NOT have the deleted backup assistant and it does now.

Maybe that is the extremely rare circumstance since we have not seen that happen to the G05 yet and we have gone through hundreds of builds. My guess is that the change was made before the VIN was assigned but MyGarage was not updated. That has happened before.

I absolutely have the parking package - the rest of it is intact (surround cam etc.)

The deletion is just hidden in the "standard features area". Only my obsessive checking (I'm not the only one haha) found it.

Distinction without a difference? it wasn't there when I got VIN in 10/21 and now it is.

The real point is no one has been notified that I've seen - people are just noticing it in my garage, hence my post. it's just another delete. Sure, not the biggest - if for instance I lost driver assistance then I'd cancel the order - but it's adding up.

The difference is how the system works not how the communication ends up working or not working.

The dealers are notified when there is a production constraint issued and they can run a vehicle inquiry to see what features/options the build will, or won't have. As you mentioned, dealers are generally not notifying people of the deletions.

For some deletions, we weren't notified. I found out about the touchscreen deletion here and then checked. I emailed the client advisors about their customer builds that were affected. It's up to them to follow through and let the customer know, generally they follow through. Same with the powered seat deletion on the 4 series gran coupe...we weren't notified, but we did reach out to the customers who were affected.

Sometimes BMW is good with the communication, sometimes not.

Thanks for that info. I always assumed, I know and thing to do, that they sent out communication for all of the deletions/adjustments, etc. They really should do that so the dealers are put into a position of a customer being surprised when taking delivery.

it is confirmed deletion happens at Status 150 Prod begins
