Ugh… frustrated, I want my new 45e. When it first popped up in Awaiting Carrier Assignment, I contacted my SA. He came back with an expected delivery of Dec 26th. My daughter is at USC, just down the street (not literally) from Spartanburg, it’s only 7-8 hours to NoVA.

I was sitting in Awaiting Carrier Assignment (along with a number of other members here) for 8 days, and seems like others were anywhere between the last 6-12 days.

My X5 45e sat at "AWAITING CARRIER ASSIGNMENT" since 12/14 (Location: southern Ohio). I called Genius and dealership. No one knows how to track and why there is such a delay. Frustrated!!

In short, the two reasons are:
- COVID
- Shortage of drivers

BMW told me once production was completed they contact the carrier company to let them know the vehicle is ready for transport. After they make that call it seems like it is just up to the carrier. I imagine there are other factors in play, for example, the carrier is likely only going to drive once their truck is full. They aren't going to make single trips to just carry one or two vehicles so I bet that plays into it as well.

All of that said and done..... Still frustrating.

Your handle is incredibly appropriate right now… Tis frustrating, working on financing, selling old car, trying to work out winter tires for the first time and not having an idea of when my car will be here.

Xmas week has a huge impact on transport/deliveries. The car probably will not move until after New year.

I know because I have attempted to ship during the holidays before. Expect an entire week to be lost for each holiday if your car hasn't been picked up by that holiday

Sadly that’s what I’m expecting.

While the thing isn't coming through a port, you have noticed the huge backlog at the ports...a good portion of that is the dearth of drivers to take the stuff away once it is unloaded. There's a lot of backups in anything that needs a truck to deliver it.

BMW doesn't own the delivery company.

I heard anywhere up to 1200 vehicles waiting to be shipped out! My status changed this morning to Dispatched From Factory. Not sure if that means it’s on the way to NoVA, but I’m happy to see the dial move after 10 days or so. Maybe it squeaks into to a 2021 delivery?

Delays are due to driver shortage and holidays.

And for the record, there is only one USC... and it isn't in S Carolina.

My X5 ended up arriving at my dealer today... hopefully tomorrow it will be mine!

As of yesterday, mine was also at the port in SC. Pretty unlikely, however, that mine is here in NJ by tomorrow.

If it’s dispatched tomorrow, it will most likely be at the dealership tomorrow. Mine was dispatched and delivered to Philly same day.

That would be great! However, unfortunately, I'm not that lucky. My buddy is the GM at the dealership I deal with, and his information is that it will probably come mid next week.

A few folks here, me included, have gone from " Awaiting carrier Assignment" to getting a phone call that the car is at the AD, without anything in between pertaining to the tracking at BMW connect.

It just happened to me. Have been wearing out the Refresh button, for the last 13 days now, to see if the next dot fills, and just got a call from the CA saying that the Car just arrive at the Dealership.

So, the tracking system at the end, is not only faulty, but is also an anxiety/pain inflicting generator, to we the buyers of this great cars!

Great if you have a USA address. The rest of us appear to be left out in the cold.
