Drivetrain Malfunction Error

Happy Sunday All.

I have a '19 M5 Comp, 21K miles. Yesterday when i turned it on I got a Drivetrain malfunction error. It said reduced engine performance but driving still possible. I noticed that the car was kind of vibrating a bit...and acceleration was not as sharp. Drive about 30 miles.

I turned it on later that day, the warning message completely disappeared and everything seemed like normal.

Turned it on today again, all good, no warning.

Has this happened to anyone before? Should I take it in to the dealer to have a look? Wondering what caused this to begin with.

Thanks!

Still under warranty, so I would definitely have the dealer scan it at no cost. Probably logged some codes.

Take to dealer … I had the DTML pop up recently with the car acting as you describe. In my case, the DTML message never went away.

Plug and injector replaced under warranty and all is back to normal.

I had the same thing happen. Dealer replaced both charge coolers and the associated cooler up front. It didn’t fix the problem. Got the same warning the first time I drove it after I picked it up from the dealer. It’s back at the dealer all weekend. We will see what they say Monday
