X5 LCI

Hi all, if production on the LCI starts April 2023, how soon will we see these cars on the road? I'm debating if I should get the current 2022 X5 or wait for LCI. Thanks all!

You should be more concerned about which options and features will be omitted when they hit the road over when will they be on the road.

Please fill me in. Is the expectation that BMW will remove features with the LCI?

Chip shortages and supply chain issues have impacted the availability of certain options and features.

Interesting, I thought things were getting better. All new builds have touchscreen etc intact.

Check out the New model thread. I'm certainly waiting.

https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=901686

G05/G06 LCI lineup: xDrive40i gets B58M2 and 370hp; xDrive45e gets the same powertrain as G70 745e, bumping the output by almost 100hp from the current version to 480hp; M50i is renamed to M60i as just mentioned.

Many folks believe the worst is yet to come and from some recent events (non-Ukraine related) that may be the case. That said, things should be improved by the time the LCI starts. If I had to guess optimistically, we will see the first year of the LCI have options/features similar to what was available in the first two years of the G05.

Also, safe to assume base price will be at least a few thousand more compared to current version?

The price of everything is going up. They just increased the prices mid-model year so it is likely we will see more increases in the future.

I had the same dilemma a few months ago. Dealer seemed to think it would be summer 2023 before I could get my hands on one. Decided to enjoy the 2022 now rather than wait. Plus wasn't sure what the environment would be like then for trade in, missing options, etc.

Garage List
They have also had 2 Interest rate hikes since my order in January. first it was 1.9% then it went to 2.49% in February and now it's 2.99% starting March.

I need to get my car before it goes even higher. It's been sitting at the port in San Bernardino for almost a week in some lot and not delivered to the dealer. It also took over 3 weeks for the car to get to California on the train when it should of been 2 weeks max. I would say things are slowing down.

My dealer was able to rate lock me after i placed my order and applied for BMWFS financing. They even extended the rate lock as the overall delivery timeframe began stretching out since my initial plan was to get a late run 2021 model but couldn't get an allocation for that so i ended up with an early 2022

As mentioned, as long as your dealer ran your credit report then you have the rate locked in. The lock is 90 days on the West Coast and 60 days elsewhere. They (BMWFS) may extend that if warranted.

Probably Q3-Q4, 2023.

I would also reserve some caution to believe a lot of the rumors for LCI changes you see on these forums until something more substantive comes out from BMW itself. Nothing has been confirmed, its all speculation at the moment.

A lot of things are fairly certain - new powertrains (6 and 8 cylinders) and new iDrive. If somebody can wait until 2023, IMO it is no brainer to wait.

Why to waste money on trading in?

Obviously everyone is different but I wouldn't waste 1-2 years waiting for the LCI model or the new model, life too short for that

Yep, everyone has different priorities. For me any trade in is a waste of money which means I will need to work longer, before I can retire 1-2 years waiting is nothing. Unless you cannot wait (lease is up, etc.).

Exactly the same for me. Unfortunately I couldn't afford to trade if I bought a Pre LCI model. Trade ins are rubbish in France and I'm not rich

Shouldn’t the X7 LCI be released this year? I’m wondering if the LCIs will be delayed since there hasn’t been a squeak about the X7 LCI.
