N55 Intake Valve Cleaning

My wife has been complaining about her Mazda becoming sluggish during acceleration. This reminded me that her engine and my M2 are both GDI.

I have not been cleaning the Mazda intake valves every 10,000 miles as suggested and have not even thought about it with my 2017 M2 with 13,500 miles.

Is intake valve cleaning something I should be concerned with on the M2?

Depends on your level of blowby production, if it's high then you'll have to do it sooner if it's low you can prolong it.

Generally the n55 is not too bad with carbon build up, so it should be around the same interval as the n54 if not more extended.

This is why you should run low saps oil with a low NOACK and good quality gas.
