I just paid $5K for my XM preorder here is USA and I'm number 85XX.

I am also first in line for a XM at my BMW dealership. I figure we can use this thread to keep each other updated on our preorders!

For those of you that also preordered one, when did you preorder yours and what number are you?

I did the first hour and mine is around 7900. If I don’t change my mind, at least I know I beat 1 dentist to the punch 😜

Wait! First hour when? I thought the USA preorder launched back on 9/27/2022?

Correct. I did it that day in the first hour and was still 7900. Never even realized the number on the preorder meant anything until you posted

Wow! So three weeks after launch, BMW only received 600+ preorders? Interesting!

Who cares! Yes, most likely you’ll definitely get an allocation before me!

What is your dealership telling you on when you should expect an allocation assigned to your preorder?

Preordered 5 min after page went live. Very low 7800’s here. Texted with my local dealership sales manager and he said I’m first in line. Will go all black inside and out.

So what do we think here on allocation schedule? I know the USA website says April 2023, but is that date for build allocations starting to be assigned to dealerships or deliveries starting April 2023?

Build time I’d assume is around 6-8 weeks like other brand new BMW orders?

Maybe BMW NA started the pre order numbering at 7,900 to artificially inflate the perceived demand of the XM?

There are 367 US BMW NA centers, as I highly doubt there is an average of 21 pre ordered XM's for each center within an hour of the website going live.

I dunno that sounds right to me… 21 per dealer would avg to less than 2 deliveries per month per dealer which sounds right for a speciality vehicle in year 1

For those in Canada, the selection of HEA specs choices for dealers was yesterday. No date given for the timing of the build. There are 50 dealers in Canada with around 2 slots per dealer give and take so it gives a rough idea of how many cars will be available.

New here, have an X3MC and an E46 M3. I ordered my XM the first minute I could. My checkout time was about 5 minutes after launch. Order number 772X for reference

Well some of you have moved up a spot today, I decided to take my deposit back. I had planned on using it as a section 179 purchase but obviously can’t take delivery of it this year. Couldn’t really justify 5 grand expense for a future purchase on the tax return. Plus I still wasn’t really sold on the car 100%. Good luck to you all! I may be back in with the red label though

179 an XM? How were you going to use an XM for business purposes?

Sure, why not? People sect 179 things like that constantly. I have an x7 that I sect 179. People do g wagons, Lamborghini urus, range rovers, you name. There’s a reason a list exists with these vehicles on it

I have pre-order 82XX. I'm having some second thoughts because I don't like the wheel choices. Ordered on 10/2. Considering buying a black set of 755M 22" wheels like on X7 instead.
