Hi gang,

It's been a long time since I posted (or even perused) here. I had a local photographer / videographer (Kapertured Visuals) shoot my car a few weeks ago.

I want to give them a warm shoutout especially to Kelvin & Julian, r33_RGSport (for providing my Akrapovic hardware, MSS springs and countless other stuff), BC Forged wheels.

The original video is hosted on YouTube and the alternate, low-res version is on my IG account. Either can be accessed (I believe) by clicking either previews in the first two posts.

Looks like more rebound dampening is needed, maybe it's just the frame rate.

I notice a lot of up and down body motion. Has lowering the ride height made the ride rather choppy?

ed4 what an amazing video which reminded me how many times I have driven on the same roads.

The vehicle is so sharp!

How is the suspension / tires responding to NYC roads?

As someone who has the same car in NYC i can answer-

Terrible

You feel everything. I replaced 4 tires already in 25K miles.

NYC has potholes, manholes and drains everywhere. All the highways have drains all over the left lane which feel just like potholes. Its actually the worst driving place on civilized earth im willing to bet.

That’s perhaps the most accurate description. I left NYC area as soon as I could. I traded my car for Nissan Pathfinder and installed a lift kit with serious shocks and bigger tires. It was the only way to entertain the idea of ignoring the moon cratered road surfaces.

Man you guys are dramatic :P My BRZ has been fine, only one damaged (bent RPF1) wheel so far in 7 years. Altho granted I am on 255/40r17 setup and have only driven 32k miles.

Back to the OP, great video and beautiful car. If I were to give any suggestion, at the end of the video when the music cuts, I would've rather seen a final drive by of the car focused on the exhaust sound.

Love it. Lowered XM’s are awesome. Definitely time for Coilovers though, watching the suspension articulate made me cringe lol
