The Plaid is unbeatable in a straight line but definitely needs better brakes, especially on the X. I have a Model S Plaid and it is shockingly fast.

God damn incredible performance from the X5M considering both the Urus and Turbo GT cost significantly more.

This video also gives me another reason to dislike Tesla. Making a car that fast with such insufficient brakes is just asking for disaster.

I want a Plaid, but this is the exact reason I won’t get one. I drive fast and the car needs to stop. The S isn’t any better. You can order CCBs, but for $20k and not with the car, they’re accessories.

Crazy money to stop a car that won’t stop. Easy to use regen to take some work off of the brakes. That’s what really needs to happen. I’m seeing too many of the Ss on their roof.

Add a RaceChip and the X5MC is equal to the GT and slightly better than the U.

Battery stuff has zero personality until you hit the brakes.....wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wheeeee

The times look spot on on a typical run for these rides. 11.4 11.7 and 11.7 is very close to real world, not negative DA hero magazine runs. Great vid. thanks for posting it up !

I’d suggest driving one to decide. The acceleration is mind-boggling to the point that it changes your perception of how fast cars can be. They used to say the “no soul” thing about GT-Rs and that they were too digital, now they’re the most analog fast car out there. Things change. The Model X isn’t my style, and we all chose the X5M over it, but the Plaid drivetrain is very, very fun. Coming from a tuned GT-R, the Plaid is about 3 steps up and makes the GT-R feel slow. It feels more like a jet than a car.

I hope to see Tesla continue to modify the X- maybe lose some of the gadgets like the falcon doors and egg shape and become more aggressive looking. And imagine an insane braking system? It would be the best at speed and stopping.

Funny thing is I've never once seen anybody hauling ass in these super SUVs lol. Urus, X5M, etc. don't matter.

0-60 times are irrelevant in the real world given the confines of speed limits, other drivers, risks for tickets/accidents, etc.. They're all fast enough at the end of the day.

Come to OC Cali, these are soccer mom cars and I see them all the time and prople do haul ass in them. The speed limit on street is 50-55mph so practically a drag every light.

This just solidifies my x5m purchase. Punching wayyy above its weight as far as performance/price ratio. It’s head to head with a urus that’s 3x it’s price.

I've seen plenty of X5s and X6s zooming around in NYC. Mainly the highways and some of the larger roads out in Queens (where I live).

Fast enough to be illegal covers most cars, but sporty cars just feel different.

I had the same thought lol. I've been cross shopping the GLE 63S and X6M for a little while. This video makes me feel good about the deposit I put down for the X6M.

So that’s the thing, I have driven them. When I visit my colleagues in California, the HQ’s parking lot is full of EV’s since they all get free charging at work. They all want me to drive their cars when we go out and they’re just boring. There’s one guy that has a Macan GTS and it’s the only one that interests me even though it’s not a straight line performer.
