Hello,
I am new on this forum so hi to all! Question : anyone off you has driven thé X5 with integral active steering and did not took this option? I am currently driving a Rs6 and SQ7 and they both have realwheel steering so I wanted also this on my new X5. Apparently it is no longer possible to order it :-( Does anyone nows which turningcycle both versions have ? With IAS and without. And a last question: would it be possible to install this after ? For example : I order the new X5 now and if one day it is again available I let install IAS after…. Many thanks in advance! |

This thread has info, post #7 lists the turning circles with/without IAS.
https://g05.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1582913 Technically it's possible, you could buy all the parts and retrofit it. But practically, no, it would be too expensive. Selling your car and buying a new one with IAS would be cheaper than trying to retrofit. |

IAS is integrated not just mechanicaly but also in chassis computer logic/firmware. Just as reply above, retrofit would not be practical.
Mine X5 got it, but I driven X5 without it. Not a big difference unless you live and drive in very tight places. Some days, I wish It can be easily deactivated, as its got mind of its own. Pressing Snow Chains button switches it off |
